Hopefully everything will be back to normal this Wednesday. As of right now I will leave you with an new remix by The Knocks as they remix Peter Bjorn & Johns new single “It Doesn’t Move Me”.

Today ReverbNation, the leading marketing platform for musicians, announced the launch of ‘Sponsored Songs,’ a new online music distribution program that will give music fans access to unlimited free song downloads from 1,000 artists. Through this innovative pilot program, a passive advertisement is embedded alongside the album cover art that is seen by music fans when they play the song on their computer, portable device or phone.
What does this mean for the fans?
It means you have to go to www.MySpace.com/Windows and http://www.reverbnation.com/windows right now! I was browsing through the list this morning and there are actually great quality songs from not so well known bands. It is refreshing to see another effort by giant companies like Microsoft trying to show some light to the small independent artists. The websites will feature music from independent and mainstream Artists in the rock, alternative, hip hop, latin, and electronica genres. Music fans will be able to browse, sample, and discover music from established and emerging Artists that isn’t available anywhere else on the web for FREE.
Artists earn money, stay in control, and receive free promotion
Artists are paid for each qualified download, and are shown the exact advertisement for their approval prior to the campaign launch. “We treat Artists like we would want to be treated,” says Lou Plaia, vice president of artist relations at ReverbNation.com. “We give them the information to determine if Sponsored Songs is a good fit for them. If it is, we equip them with turnkey tools to promote the song to their fans.”
Whether you love or hate Microsoft, this seems to me like a great way to discover new music. The Music Ninja is really loving it.

Another installment of the madness of the mellows. Songs to pamper your heart rate. This time I am trying to reach out into different genres for mellow songs. We have some amazing chill trance thanks to Velvet Girl, a slow spanish rock by Nacho Vega, the interesting sounds of Rob Dougan, a remix with the one and only radiohead and soothing vocals from Landon Pigg and new music from Andrew Birds latest EP titled “Fitz & the Dizzyspells”
The very song from the Tv Commercial Diamonds are Forever that appeared early last year from Landon Piggs. A slow and heartfelt song with melodies carefully put together for your enjoyment.

Have you ever seen the Matrix? If so, you will probably recognize Rob Dougan’s “Clubbed to Death (Kurayamino variation)”. Rob is a genre-blenind music composer from Sydney, Australia known for mixing elements of orchestral music, tirp hop and bluesy lyrics. His voice is soo damn cool and chilled.. its perfect for this mellow post.

Self-described as a rock-singer-songwriter, Nacho Vegas blends the polyhedric language of rock and the most stark lyricism into an intense whole. His lyrics are painful and celebratory, pathetic and grand, brutally lucid and of an intimate beauty; a desperate philosophy of survival shines with a wicked sense of humour and a longing for the divine.

This might not be the chillest song in the world, but I am a sucker for anything radiohead. Due to their huge sucesss, I would say hundreds of remixes are being created everyday and it is just a delight when you come across a good one.

Short Description about Jens Martin Lekman:
This guy is hilarious!
Long Description about Jens Martin Lekman:
Jens Martin Lekman, an indie pop musical who hails from Sweden but now resides in Melbourne Australia, delivers heavily sampled guitar-based pop with lyrics that are a compelling mix of wit, romance, and melancholy.
Lekman’s first distribution of music, from 2000 to 2003, was mostly private but started to get some airplay. One of his songs, “Rocky Dennis’ Farewell Son to the Blind Girl”, caused a case of mistaken identity when new fans and even radio stations thought that he was Rocky Dennis. In 2004, he released the album Rocky Dennis in Heaven which put the identity matter to rest.
A lot of his songs rely on comedic storytelling like “Friday Night at the Drive-In Bingo” and “You Are The Light”. The lyrics are at times random and ridiculous but he makes it up in charm and poetic wit.
