[DOSVEC Remix] Ciara Vs David Guetta ft Kid Cudi

“Memories” is a track by David Guetta featuring Kid Cudi released back around August 2009. The track is a much laid back club mix than what we are used to here (see post below) but nonetheless it was a “solid” song. Personally, it took me a while to like the beat Guetta laid down but the presence of Kid Cudi facilitated this process.

DOSVEC, moniker of DJ Whatt, thought this song was a complete sausage fest and threw in Ciara to balance things out. The result of adding Ciara’s One Two Step to Memories is completely amazing… but sadly it doesn’t last for long. In the second half, we are back to square one with just Kid Cudi and no sign of Ciara. A complete tease if you ask me as another Ciara appearance would have taken this mash-up to another level. Nonetheless I enjoyed the beginning SO much I had to share it and ask what you guys think about it? Am I asking for too much? Comment Below.

[ELECTRO] JANUARY 2010 FILTHY ELECTRO COLLECTION

DirtyElectroHouse22 [ELECTRO] JANUARY 2010 FILTHY ELECTRO COLLECTION

One of the great philosophers of our time once said, “Go Hard, or Go Home”. These 5 syllables are inspiring words to live by as they can be applied to all aspects of life. When it comes to dubstep, filthy “Dirty Electro” house music, I believe understanding this principle is crucial. When I am in the mood to over-saturate my auditory sensors, I want to go extremely hard.

TheConstellations 1 cA Horse With No Name2 The Constellations Setback (Kickdrums remix)

The Constellations will officially be releasing Setback in the UK on the 8th of March through Parallel Lines (although you can download it for free through Virgin Records). I just discovered them today and I am really impressed with their psychedelic pop/rock vibe. They remind me of Cake with sprinkles of Mars Volta resulting in a much richer, “full’er” production that combines a variety of different sounds at once. With so much going on it is almost expected to sound chaotic, but this couldn’t be further from the truth. Hate to be this corny, but The Constellations reminds us that out of chaos, comes beauty. It is a challenge not to have your mind wonder onto a different dimension because all these simultaneous harmonic melodies make for a very surreal experience. Check them out.

When it comes to remixes I either want to hear something completely different from the original or very subtle edits.. but definitely nothing in between. Kickdrums does a subtle but fantastic job at adding a bit of drums to their new single “Set Back”.

Looking Back at a Classic: "Just a Friend"

just a poppa dosvec2 Looking Back at a Classic: "Just a Friend"“Just a Friend” is a 1989 classic from rapper Biz Markie. ‘The song interpolates the 1968 song “You Got What I Need” (1968) by the late singer/songwriter Freddie Scott, whose basic chord and melody provided the base for the song’s chorus and made it famous’. Dosvec has created a mashup where both Biggie and Biz contribute and become “Just a Friend”. Even though I am a fan of Biggie, I’ve grown to hate almost all Biggie mash-ups. There are just way too many of them and it surprises me that still today dj/producers are pasting his lyrics over anything. Having said that this mash up strikes me differently. The combination of Biz Markie sincere choruses with Biggie’s raw lyrics from “Big Poppa” creates a much soothing and personal feel to the song. The talented producer Danger Mouse, responsible for half of Gnarls Barkley, Gorillaz’s “Demon Days” and Beck’s “Modern Guilt” recently teamed up with Shins frontman James Mercer to create a rich fusion between the electronica and soft rock. Settling on the name Broken Bells, they just released ‘The High Road’, a single from their self-titled debut album coming out March 9th. – The Music Ninja

nashvillenights2 January 2010 Electrogasm via Nashville Nights

After getting an Xbox 360 and announcing my gametag: nTsBacon (notorious bacon, add me!) the electronic junkie over at music blog Nashville Nights has ever since joined me on owning n00bs in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (his gametag is sicknastyyy).

Besides from owning little twelve year olds on the Xbox, Joseph from Nashville Nights posts quality written reviews with electrogasmic mp3′s. The following are just a couple of the best pop electronic songs I discovered through NN. But please, dont let this stop you, go stream all his songs on his hypem profile.

British singer-songwriter Ellie Goulding is an emerging electropop artists best known for her 2009 single “Under The Sheets”. Her vocals are a tad bit too synthetized for my liking but just like with Little Boots, both their music contains a solid foundation of melodically rich vocals to which dj/producers can easily exploit, stripping them of their dignity. However, thanks to gentlemen like Russ Chimes the song is dressed up with a much-needed upbeat electronic dress, working around the curves of Guildings new single Starry Eyed. The result is a glamorous, sexy and much danceable tune… an electrogasm – Read NN’s original Post

To be honest I was surprised to find out this was Katy Perry singing. I focus my attention on a lot of indie-releated news and music that a lot of things happening with mainstream artists go under my radar. I heard this track before the original that was released a couple of weeks back. Chew Fu took out all the boring pop elements that made this song mediocre and injected it with a colorful electronic juice. Now I can’t stop listening to it. The original does not compare… electrogasm!

‘Like the final round of a videogame tournament, Computer Club’s music is loud, aggressive and spattered with grimy funk. A tendency toward the heavy, distortion-tinged sound of electro house is well balanced with his penchant for funk-laden interludes amongst the banger blitz’

DANCE DANCE DANCE! Computer Club’s remix of Elevatin by Wired All Wrong achieves a perfect balanced between aggressive dirty electro house and more subtle unaltered samples.
