[Mellow] School of Seven Bells – “Heart Is Strange (Active Child remix)

school of seven bells [Mellow] School of Seven Bells Heart Is Strange (Active Child remix)

Relaxing, meditative, innovative, how else do you describe School of Seven Bells? Just imagine being in the most relaxing place possible and multiply that times 100. SVIIB is three-piece band formed by Benjamin Curtis of Secret Machines, together with identical twins Alejandra and Claudia Deheza, formerly of On!Air!Library!. The band is named after the School of the Seven Bells, a mythical South American pickpocket training academy. Producer Active Child has captivated SVIIB musical mood and gave it a much more dramatically mellow atmosphere, perhaps haunting at times with never blissfully instrumentation.

[Dance/Pop] Martin Solveig Feat. Dragonette – Hello (Original Mix)

Martin Solveig1 [Dance/Pop] Martin Solveig Feat. Dragonette Hello (Original Mix)

Following their massively successful pop number “Boys & Girls”, Martin Solveig collaborates Canadian Electropop group Dragonette once again to produce a track that feels straight out of the 80′s head bobbing scene, with chunky modern twist. There is a very innocent and childlike vibe as Martina Sorbara flirtatious vocals paired with a playful bass-line provide an incredibly seducing dance/pop song. Enjoy!

[Music Video] Duck Sauce – Barbra Streisand

About the only person who doesn’t appear in crate-digging duo Duck Sauce’s new video is the actual Barbra Streisand. Instead, Armand Van Helden, A-Trak, and a Baba impersonator are joined by Kanye West (+ his chair), Questlove, Pharrell, Chromeo, Vampire Weekend, Santigold, Yelawolf, Diplo, DJ Premier, and various other anonymous and sorta well-known others. steregum.com

[Experimentronic] Lemaitre The Friendly Sound + Nishio

The latest in the overwhelming but welcome batch of glitchy electronic artists with unbelievable potential is Lemâitre, a duo out of Oslo, Norway. The duo has only released a few songs and I don’t even know if they’ve got a website other than their soundcloud page, but that doesn’t mean that they can’t make a big impression. They seem to have a good grasp on taking a bunch of random noises and samples and assembling them in a way that makes perfect sense. Take a listen to a few of their tracks and let us know what you think.

[Soundtrack] Chuck Season 4 Episode 2 Music: Versus the Suitcase + Songs from Ep 1 vs the Anniversary

chuck soundtrack season 4 vs the suitcase music [Soundtrack] Chuck Season 4 Episode 2 Music: Versus the Suitcase + Songs from Ep 1 vs the Anniversary

Chuck is BACK (well it was last week) and so its the amazing soundtrack of songs being selected every week. The Buy More got rebuilt, now as a super secret base full of undercover Agents, Eli is preggers and Chuck and Sarah are happily working things out with their relationship. Everything so far in the last two episodes have been very calm and collected, especially the end of Chuck Season 4 Episode 2 Versus the Suitcase with the carefully crafted song “A Girl, a Boy and a Graveyard” serenading at the end as Sarah finally unpacks.

The upbeat dance song playing in Episode 2 of Chuck as Sarah & Chuck go undercover at a fashion show in order to retrieve Sofia’s dress; repeats as Sarah & Sofia fight is “I Like That” from Richard Vission & Static Revenger. Instead of playing the original, I have added a more badass remix below:

Thanks to Morgan, the Buy More staff gets re-restructured as Alice Cooper “Feed My Frankestein” plays in the background as they march down the isle before the eventually all stumble upon each other.

[Hip/Hop] Chiddy Bang – The Fuck You (Remix) + The Good Life (Monsieur Adi Remix)

cee lo green Cee Lo Green Gets Hella Profane On Fuck You [Hip/Hop] Chiddy Bang The Fuck You (Remix) + The Good Life (Monsieur Adi Remix)

The MC in this song is right. A remix of the popular ear-worm, “Fuck You” was inevitable.

Chiddy Bang has made their name choosing unconventional samples like MGMT on their first single “Opposite of Adults”. The verses are pretty good on this track, and it’s a good way to listen to Cee-Lo‘s smash single without playing the original for the umpteenth time. It’s pretty obvious they rushed this out to capitalize on the popularity of “Fuck You”, but it doesn’t dampen the song.

This won’t be winning any Grammys for Chiddy Bang, but it’s a good track for now.

Fresh out of the oven. A brand new remix from Monsieur Adi taking Chiddy Bang’s laidback The Good Life into a whole new direction. He tell us, “The original has such a nice laid back flow and rhythm, but I wanted to give it a different feel and make it ready for dancing. I added some synths, robotics, and strings over a breakbeat and played a little with the rhythm of Chiddy’s vocals”.

[Indie/Folk] Sea Wolf – Turn The Dirt Over

sea wolf [Indie/Folk] Sea Wolf Turn The Dirt Over

Sea Wolf is a band led by Alex Brown Church, an indie folk musician based in Los Angeles, California

As stated on allmusic.com, much like Iron & Wine and similar indie outfits, Sea Wolf is the project name of a sole singer/songwriter who drafts in other musicians as the occasion warrants. That singer/songwriter is Alex Church, a California native who looks to local authors like John Steinbeck and Jack London (whose 1904 novel The Sea Wolf provided the band name) for inspiration.

It’s always hard to remember that Sea Wolf hasn’t been around since my youth, states Radio Free Chicago, Something about his albums feels like “timeless indie”, the type of stuff I listened to in my early teens right along side Pavement and Built To Spill.

His very calming instrumentations paired with Church’s soft vocals makes his latest album, White Water a delightful breeze to listen.
