We know all you ninjas are getting excited for EDC, so we decided Aylen’s “Recoil” remix would be the perfect track to pump you up! Aylen is no newcomer to The Music Ninja, which is exactly why we’re excited to be the first to show you his Recoil remix. This “Recoil” remix has such a rising feeling to it, that by the time it breaks from the drop, you are a bit worn out. After that resting time is over, the second drop kicks in and it picks the energy right back up. As I was writing this I kept breaking out dancing, and I had to tell myself “stop dancing you need to be writing this…” This song will have the same effect on you; you are going to be headbanging in a matter of moments. Got to love when an artist takes a song and remixes it to totally sound completely different than the original. Hence what a remix should be like.
Today, TMN has the pleasure of premiering Aylen’s remix of Zedd’s ‘Stay the Night’. The original is a very upbeat song full of Williams’ strong female vocals and intense dance pulsations. Aylen takes this song and develops it into his own taste, he slows the vocals way down and adds some trap melodies and beats that make this song sound like an original of Aylen’s. The vocals sound all male and the rhythm of the song has taken a gentler pace which leaves the listener enjoying the dream-like beats and an appreciation for the song dialed down a few notches.

We’re kicking off this weeks Trap Dojo in a hard way with the newest track from trap music prodigy Alex Young, an original titled “Mastermind”. Don’t let the emotional electro build-up fool you, when this one drops, nothing will stop you from banging your head and attempting to shuffle, no matter where you are. Vinnie Maniscalco puts a fresh spin on an old favorite this week, remixing The Champs classic tune “Tequila”. With heavy bass and clever drum work, he flips the familiar sax tune on its head. Ookay and Pyramid Juke come together for a huge collaboration with this minimal track “Yen”, hope you have your subs turned up for this one. The name Aylen should be a familiar sight to you ninjas, so you know when he remixes Porter Robinson the result is going to be massive, complex trap banger. Both ETC!ETC! and CRNKN bring us two very different remixes of Tokimonsta. ETC!ETC! pulls some huge 808s and snares over some lyrics by Kool Keith, while CRNKN chills it out a bit. TRILLWAVE remixes “Good Vibrations” by Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch on their nostalgic EP www.trapgodz.com which also includes a remix of “What is Love” and “Believe” by Cher. Updating a Zedd original is not an easy feat but when it comes to New Jersey producer Aylen, nothing is impossible. The incredible voice Foxes lends herself for this track is sure to induce more than just goosebumps as her sensible vocals glide through this progressive single from Zedd. And yet, Aylen is able to expose the beautiful harmonies of the original track while still lifting “Clarity” to welcomed, and much aggressive, heights. The rise of reconstructing songs and turning them into the next juggernaut dubstep/trap banger is far too common nowadays and it is producers like Aylen that are inherently capable of striking the perfect balance between fluid melodies combined with the harsher elements of electro house. Another week, another Trap Dojo, filled with the very best Trap music the internet has to offer. Sorry this post isn’t on the usual Tuesday, but it has more than enough banging tunes to make up for it. The first track, a huge remix of the Flux Pavillion and Major Lazer track “Jah No Partial” goes hard, infusing the classic roots reggae vocals over all sorts of wild instrumentals, horns, whistles and drums. The Dojo just wouldn’t quite feel right if there wasn’t a track by Ookay near the top of the list and he certainly doesn’t disappoint this week, I dare you not to lose your mind when the whistles drop into the track after the hardstyle breakdown halfway through the track. I have no idea who Kennedy Jones is other than he posted this first song to his Soundcloud last and it is a track that would be sure to pack a dance floor. It seems that we cant go a single week without throwing in a remix of “Clique,” and this week Bird Peterson does the honors. Butch Clancy, or should I say “BU†CH CLΔNCΨ” takes a break from making killer dubstep to make this hard hitting trap mash-up. This isn’t available for free download, but will be as soon as Clancy gets all the kinks worked out. I have loved every single OG mix that Candyland has released, and this mix of J-Kwon‘s “Tipsy” proves that they are one of the best at updating familiar but tired tracks into hyped up bangers. The next several songs all go hard with huge instrumentals and fire-spitting lyrics. The last few songs are a little bit different, M!NT creates a beautiful Lovetrap sound with hip-hop vocals throughout while Kastle is pure Lovetrap, with amazing layered vocals sure to get your head nodding while your heart’s breaking. Lastly, we have something the likes of which I’m sure you’ve never heard before, as 710 Records boss ṪHE ƦξVЁR∑NƉ BLEEⱣ BLOO₱ traps out the Etta James classic “At Last”. Be sure to listen to all of these songs on the best system or headphones you have to catch all the sub-bass and subtle features which make these songs truly magnificent.
