[Hip-Hop] Big K.R.I.T. – Cadillactica

Big K.R.I.T.
Cadillactica

Memphis-emcee Big K.R.I.T. takes listeners to the stars and beyond in a old school ride with his new single “Cadillactica”. The single comes fresh off the release of K.R.I.T.’s See Me On Top Vol. 4 release and is yet another chill listen. Mixing a tough, southern-flow with a catchy hook over DJ Dahi-production, this latest release should definitely be in heavy rotation for K.R.I.T. fans.

This tune finds K.R.I.T. jumping on the track with some quick-tongued bars reminiscent of old-school hip-hop. Definitely one that is meant for low-riding or chilling, this single is not necessarily K.R.I.T.’s best but it is certainly worth a listen for what it is. The young rapper even shows off some of his comedic skill on a short-skit towards the tail-end of the song. This is the third release from the upcoming project of the same name and is available for free when fans pre-order the album on iTunes, now.

[Hip-Hop] Big Sean – Paradise + I Don’t Fuck With You (Feat. E-40) + Jit/Juke + 4th Quarter

It’s been a minute since we last heard any solo material from Big Sean, but the Detroit spitter has returned in a big way today (no pun intended). In honor of his recent signing to Roc Nation and the release of his own signature pair of Adidas shoes, Sean Don decided to share four brand new songs to celebrate his hustle. These aren’t exactly your average fare either, as the tracks feature production from an eclectic group that includes Mike WiLL Made ItKanye West, DJ Mustard, DJ Dahi, Key Wane, Nate Fox, Da Internz and L&F.

Sean is all over the map in this collection, as he draws influence from a number of various styles of hip-hop. From the far more serious “Paradise” and “4th Quarter” to the more playful “Jit/Juke” and “I Don’t Fuck With You,” the talented rapper stays steady with the punchlines, dropping plenty of quotables and keying us into some of the recent happenings of his life, namely the rumors surrounding his relationship with Ariana Grande.

Nod your head to the tracks below, and make sure to be on the lookout for any upcoming album announcements from the G.O.O.D. Music representative.

[Album Review] Drake – Nothing Was the Same

’Drake – From Time (Feat. Jhené Aiko)’
’Drake – Furthest Thing’
’Drake – Tuscan Leather’
’Drake – Worst Behavior’

More than just the Adele of the rap game, Drake‘s ability to convey both sensitive and egotism with an ear for solid bars with catchy hooks have made him one of the highest selling artists in the industry. In just 4 years, the actor turned unlikely rapper/singer has achieved more with just 3 albums than most artists accomplish in a lifetime in the industry: sold out shows, millions of records, Grammy’s, and chart-topping singles. Now that Kanye West has chosen to explore more of an indie sound with his latest release Yeezus, Drake has arguably become the game’s new unchallenged crossover star. With his latest release Nothing Was the Same, he returns to the style of spitting about former relationships and braggadocious rhymes, but a little less formulaic than before.

Minus the obvious hits, “Started From the Bottom,” “All Me,” and “Hold On, We’re Going Home,” Nothing Was the Same features a more in-depth look into Drake’s life that further explores the upsides and downsides of fame on his personal relationships. On the opening “Tuscan Leather,” Aubrey takes a minute from crooning over hooks and choruses to deliver a straight rap that includes boasting and a mention of his short-lived fallout with fellow labelmate Nicki Minaj. “Too Much” featuring Sampha (of SBTRKT fame) delves into more personal and somber themes, as Drake spits about how the growth of his fame affects family ties.
