[Deep House] EDX – Remember House (Teaser)

EDX
Remember House (TEASER)

Maurizio Colella, aka EDX, has been a machine the past year in developing his thriving career. Between forward thinking originals, exquisite remixes, his weekly No Xcuses podcast, and his recent ‘Progression of Sound’ US Tour, we have begun to think that Colella has a super power that does not require sleep. To keep fans on their toes once again, EDX previews his newest original, “Remember House,” that is out via Enourmous Records on March 2nd to kick start the festival season.

EDX has created a niche in the dance soundscape with his trademark blend of progressive and deep house that fans immediately feel in love with. After a first listen of “Remember House,” it seems that EDX may be taking a slight departure from his signature sound. EDX layers a throbbing bassline with vintage vocals and entrancing pad work to deliver a club banger that still resembles his beloved progressive style. Although EDX throws us a curve ball with “Remember House,” we will be excited to see what other tricks he has up his sleeve for 2015.

Be sure to check out EDX‘s last remix of Nora En Pure and Sons of Maria’s “Uruguay” that has been #2 on Beatport Deep House Charts and #12 on the Overall Charts. Grab your copy here.

[House] EDX – Cool You Off

EDX
Cool You Off

EDM powerhouse EDX has recently come out with an ultra-clean dance tune called “Cool You Off”. I envision this tune played at a Miami pool party (granted, I am bias).

Hot crowd, chill vibe, copious libations. The bass line on this one is deep, the kick is peppy, vocals are smooth and relaxing. I would loop this thing on 16 bars for 20 minutes and no one would give a damn. Sip on a mojito, relax by the pool, and blast this baby to get everyone dancing and feeling fantastico.

EDX
Reckless Ardor (Pete Tong EXCLUSIVE) Essential Selection

There’s no doubt EDX has been on a tear the past few years. The well renown Italian DJ/Producer has had giant hit after hit with tracks like “Blessed”, “Hazed”, “Hyped”, his collaboration with Leventina, “The Tempest” and his impressive house remix of “Thinking About You” by Calvin Harris. While we have thoroughly enjoyed a good lot of these tunes and chatting with this EDM giant at Beta Nightclub last year, we’re especially taken by his most recent release, “Reckless Ardor.”

In a departure from the energetic, progressive houose style that we’re used to, EDX has slowed things down with a voluptuous deep house tune. Originally premiered on Pete Tong’s show about three months back, we’re excited today to bring you the first look at the music video.

Directed by Guy Julian Noumen, we’re offered an intimate glimpse into the life of a gentleman who is…ahem…not doing too bad for himself on the lady front. Take a look below, but not if you’re at work or in front of your girlfriend.

After you’re done watching, celebrate the worldwide release of “Reckless Ardor” by picking it up oniTunes, or by streaming it on Spotify.

[Progressive] EDX- Give It Up For Love (Mysto & Pizzi Remix)

Talented NY producers Mysto & Pizzi, better known for their “Beatmaking Wednesday” sessions on Youtube, have greatly improved in their progressive house productions over the past year. Their remix of EDX’s “Give It Up For Love” manages to maintain a graceful equilibrium between freshness and nostalgia. The first time I listened to this duo was years ago when they were still focusing on hip-hop remixes. They’ve shown their versatility time and time again, and trust me, this track DOES NOT DISAPPOINT. The pure filtered buildups, one progression building upon another, the emotional depth built into the synths, the vocal prowess of John Williams—this track leaves you feeling empowered, ready to go all night, and maybe, just maybe…giving it up for love.

Watch the video, it’s sure to make anyone that’s been to an EDM event sentimental.

“Give It Up For Love” was released 5/25 on Sirup Music and can be purchased on Beatport here.
