Calvin Harris feat. Florence Welch – Sweet Nothing (Video)

When this track first surfaced earlier in the month, we pretty much went apeshit for it here on the Music Ninja. Check out the new video for this genre-crossing song by the ever-epic Florence Welch (who plays a lounge singer with a not so recognizable haircut) and EDM connoisseur Calvin Harris.

[Anthem] Calvin Harris feat. Florence Welch – Sweet Nothing (Radio Edit)

Yes you read correctly, this is Florence minus The Machine and Calvin Harris on the same track. Who said summer was over, because I’m pretty sure these two had other plans. They deliver quite possibly my favorite track from Calvin Harris ever, and with an unexpected collab. Featuring an infectious melody that mixes perfectly with the empowering vocals of Florence Welch. This chick has got it all featuring a wide range of vocal work that is sure to get stuck in your head upon first listen. I have a feeling that when Calvin remixed Florence’s track “Spectrum”, they realized the collab had to happen again. Not much more to be said about this incredible anthem, so just enjoy the rest of the weekend and rage to this. Cheers.

[Electronic] Florence Welch ft. Calvin Harris – Sweet Nothing

“Sweet Nothing” only premiered yesterday on BBC Radio 1, but it’s already making waves around the world. UK favorite Calvin Harris collabs on another catchy tune with Florence Welch (of Florence + The Machine), and the result is such a sweet something.

A funky bassline begins the song, before transitioning back into the area of House/Electro-pop that made Calvin Harris famous, all topped off with Florence’s vocals throughout the track. Not only a song that juxtaposes love against melancholy, a deep want for something from nothing, “Sweet Nothing” is also a song that stays in the moment, a song that reiterates and conveys the needs of going out and dancing to forget your troubles. Harris’ melodies enhance the lyrics by communicating the mixed emotions and nuances that the vocals alone can’t do. This song is going to be all over radios and in clubs, so listen to it here!

[Dubstep] Florence + The Machine – Cosmic Love (PatrickReza Remix)

We’ve really come to love Patrick Reza. Not only does he produce gorgeous remixes of some of our favorite indie artists, but his youthful enthusiasm just makes us smile. Every time a remix is ready to come out, he’s so excited to share the news with us. It’s that enthusiasm that makes what we do so much fun.

In Patrick’s latest remix, he chose to throw his gritty wobbles and walking bass breakdowns over the illustrious voice of Florence Welch from Florence and the Machine. This remix, as all of Patrick’s tracks, balance carefully with the lyrics and select elements of the original. Notice how meticulously the harp blends with the bass and synthesized elements. It’s positively gorgeous.

All of Patrick Reza’s tracks are available for free downloads, so give him a “like”, download, and enjoy.

Florence + The Machine – Spectrum (Calvin Harris Remix)

Quite possibly the best tracks from Florence + The Machine‘s new album Ceremonials, ‘Spectrum’ gets a bouncy face-lift from beloved superstar producer Calvin Harris. Being die hard fans of Florence + The Machine ourselves, we were skeptical of a dance remix ruining the powerful essence of the original. Calvin Harris manipulates vocals over a less pronounce house bassline ultimately serving its justice. Listen below and tell us what you think?

Florence + the Machine – Never Let Me Go (Clams Casino Remix)

It is surprising how two different styles of music can come together so perfectly. On one hand we have English indie pop band Florence & The Machine, consisting of lead singer Florence Welch whose powerful vocals still remain delicate throughout each and every song. And then you have Clams Casino, a pioneer in a hip/hop subgenre mashed with electronica and experimental sounds providing a new style between hip/hop and chillwave.

The brilliance comes with Clams Casino producing a remix of ‘Never Let Me Go’, resulting into a much more emotional and surreal experience. Hazy instrumentation as the vocals from Florence pierce through the noise providing a satisfying clarity.

That remix will appear on a limited white-vinyl “Never Let Me Go” 12″, out 4/9 on the Vinyl Factory.
