[Indie Dance] Alina Baraz & Galimatias – Fantasy (Felix Jaehn Remix)

Alina Baraz & Galimatias
Fantasy (Felix Jaehn Remix)

The team of Alina Baraz & Galimatias has seen an insurmountable amount of success, and it’s no secret as to why. They’ve created simply astounding material together, and now the official remixes are beginning to roll in with a new contribution from Felix Jaehn. The tone is completely shifted from slow and sultry to upbeat and radiant as the future house influence charges full steam ahead. There’s something very Gryffin-esque about this tune, and if you aren’t familiar with Gryffin, that’s certainly a positive thing. Ultra Music finds themselves with another solid release with this remix, and Felix Jaehn delivers a catchy rendition with prime source material.

Sunday Night Soul [Vol. 5]

It’s the middle of December, which for many of us means our Holiday break is just an arm’s length away. Of course there’s some hurdles to get through along the way. Whether it’s a hellish finals week packed with little to no sleep, or having to endure office parties while donning your ugliest Holiday sweaters (admittedly, the second option sounds a bit less stressful), we’re here to give you a few moments of reprise as you sort through your hectic schedule.

[Chill] Alina Baraz & Galimatias – Pretty Thoughts // Alina Baraz – Drift [ANDRU Remix]

It’s pretty much a given, when these two artists work together, they make pure magic. Alina Baraz and Galimatias have released their second song off their single for us to swoon over. “Pretty Thoughts” is the definition of a chill song, with the slow beat, laid back melodies, and Alina’s sultry and enticing vocals, this song makes it way right into your very thoughts. An almost dream like world among all the pretty thoughts is where listeners find themselves, while the soft drum beats, piano and relaxed electronic rhythms carefully tickle your ears and carry your mind to a pretty, pretty place.

’Alina Baraz & Galimatias – Pretty Thoughts’

And if that song wasn’t enough Alina for you which, let’s be serious, her voice is pure musical ecstasy that we can never get enough of, earlier this month ANDRU dropped a remix of her song “Drift”. The wonderful thing about Alina is her voice can be turned up or down, put with a slow beat or a fast beat and it always sounds unbelieveable. ANDRU adds his personal touches to this remix, slowing it down and pulling out Alina’s vocals to carry the song on one constant sound wave. Mixed with just the right about of electronic melodies, ANDRU engages his listeners to come drift away in this dream-like remix.

[MP3 Playlist] The Chill Dojo #43

Chill Dojo #43, where have you been hiding? For any keen ninjas playing along at home, you may have thought we’d gone and jumped straight to #44 and skipped out on a key edition. For anyone who didn’t realize, congrats anyway because we have another playlist of great music to make up for the lack of chill last week. Everyone’s a winner!

And what better prize than our first track from Danish musician Galimatias which is an absolute delight. There is certainly something going on in Scandinavia right now when you have artists like this and Norway’s Cashmere Cat producing some truly special sounds that are taking the world by storm. ‘Marshmallow Grove’ and ‘Lakeside Blu’ are just a few examples of this magic being brewed for our ears. And if we’re talking global sensations, Bondax have certainly been gaining attention far beyond their UK homeland, and their latest summer jam ‘Giving it All’ is certain to keep that momentum going. But it’s not all happening in Europe, and there’s plenty to enjoy from US artists as well. This sexy remix of ‘Her Favorite Song’ from Oliver is out to prove just that,  as well as another batch of ‘C O O L’ remixes with the release of Le Youth’s EP. Dojo favourite Lane 8 is our pick of the bunch, so if you’ve happened to miss all the other versions we’ve featured, make sure not to sleep on this one.  Now it’s been a while since we’ve ended the playlist with a fun little novelty track, and in late celebration of the 4th of July, we’ve got Giraffage’s hilarious remake of ‘Party in the USA’. As amusing as it is, it’s actually quite impressive how the quality production transforms the grating tone of the Miley Cyrus original into something so listenable.

But no matter where you hail from, we’re celebrating the amazing sounds coming from all corners of the globe. That’s what music is all about. Peace out.
