[NEW] BANKS – This Is What It Feels Like (Prod. Lil Silva & Jamie Woon)

BANKS
This Is What It Feels Like (Prod. Lil Silva & Jamie Woon)

Ever since BANKS emerged earlier this year, she’s been on constant rotation around the top secret TMN offices. “This Is What It Feels Like” represents yet another spectacular hit to add to the LA native’s repertoire. Upon pressing play, the eerie intro instantly evokes images of a spaceship touching down on Earth for the first time, almost as if affirming BANKS’s arrival onto the scene. The groaning bass and ethereal synths from Lil Silva and Jamie Woon are soon overtaken by crisp and ruminating vocals, all of which help the single achieve a sound that is both menacing and exhilarating at the same time

After playing the “Waiting Game” for much too long, we finally have our hands on BANKS’ LONDON EP and are absolutely in love with it. Make sure to grab yourself a copy on iTunes, and look out for BANKS in your city as she tours with The Weeknd.

Lana Del Rey – Video Games (Jamie Woon remix)

While still in its infancy, there is a new trend happening in the music world involving the lovely Lana Del Rey and we cant be more excited about it. Electronic producers have finally noticed her seductive vocals and are now jumping on remixing her work (We featured PatrickReza Dubstep Remix of Blue Jeans yesterday). Today, James Woon, son of Celtic folk singer Mae McKenna and accomplished songwriter/producer not only created an r&b sounding rendition infused with electronic elements, but went as far as pitch altering her voice. This hypnotic changes gives the once somber original some uplifting qualities, although the underline dark tone has gone untampered. A unique and wildly experimental delight.
