Sunday Night Soul [Vol. 8]

We hope you’ve all had a productive 2014 so far. If you’re like those of us in the Midwest however, you’ve most likely been stranded inside all weekend. While we deal with temperatures dipping into the negatives, we’ve compiled a little something here to help warm you up (DISCLAIMER: we can’t promise you’ll actually feel physically warmer). This latest collection of tracks is sure to distract you from the frigid conditions outside, with enchanting tunes from Phil Beaudreau, Blackbear, Daniel J and Charlie Puth ready to melt your heart. Of course no Sunday Night Soul is complete without the remixes, and we’ve got plenty to offer, ranging from the sensual, the playful, the emotional, and more from producers like Sango, IAMNOBODI, Arnold (M|O|D) and T-AARONmusic. With that being said, it’s officially time to hit play and begin the heating process. We hope you made it your resolution to listen to more Sunday Night Soul in 2014!

[NEW] Justin Timberlake – TKO (Black Friday Remix) (Feat. J. Cole, A$AP Rocky & Pusha T)

Justin Timberlake
TKO (Black Friday Remix) (Feat. J. Cole, A$AP Rocky & Pusha T)

And the good music just keeps on coming. Just in time for Black Friday, hit-maker Justin Timberlake drops an unexpected new remix to his latest single, “TKO,” bringing in some heavyweight emcees to deliver some dope verses over the Timbaland production. J.Cole steps up to the plate first, with a vicious verse utilizing a similar flow to Drake‘s on “Versace.” The Roc Nation emcee even gives fans a response to the now infamous Kendrick Lamar diss on “Control.” A$AP follows by addressing the rumors swirling around about his highly talked about love life and Pusha T closes things about by making a case that he has the album of the year. This mix is definitely audio crack and should not go unheard. Take a listen and decide which emcee had the best verse over the addicting beat.

[NEW] Justin Timberlake – Cabaret (Feat. Drake) (Prod. Timbaland) + Full Album Stream

Justin Timberlake
Cabaret Feat. Drake

Justin Timberlake‘s The 20/20 Experience 2 of 2 will be hitting shelves next Monday, and just like last time, JT has partnered with iTunes to provide fans with an early glimpse for free in order to prepare for its release. One of the most anticipated tracks from the album was easily “Cabaret,” alongside Drake. The single features two talented artists who have thoroughly dominated the charts throughout their careers, linking up for the very first time. Just as you may have expected, “Cabaret” does include an appearance from R&B Drizzy; however, it’s a pretty minor cameo compared to the minute long verse where the Toronto native spits game the way only he knows how.

The full album stream for JT’s The 20/20 Experience 2 of 2 can be found here, while Drake’s Nothing Was The Same will be in stores tomorrow.

[NEW] Justin Timberlake – TKO (Prod. Timbaland)

Justin Timberlake‘s The 20/20 Experience (2 of 2) is set to drop at the end of this month, and although very little is known about the album so far, one thing seems to be certain: this sequel will definitely have a musical identity of its own. While the first 20/20 Experience boasted a much more mature and soulful sound from the Tennessee crooner,   “TKO” seems to take things back to 2006, falling more in line with the Timbaland produced hits on FutureSex/LoveSounds. Fans who complained about the lack of pop friendly singles from Timberlake’s comeback record will certainly be pleased with this one. Make sure to pre-order The 20/20 Experience (2 of 2), which will hit shelves on September 30th, and also include features from Drake and Jay-Z.

[MP3 Playlist] The Chill Dojo #43

Chill Dojo #43, where have you been hiding? For any keen ninjas playing along at home, you may have thought we’d gone and jumped straight to #44 and skipped out on a key edition. For anyone who didn’t realize, congrats anyway because we have another playlist of great music to make up for the lack of chill last week. Everyone’s a winner! While getting lost in tunes like this, you can incorporate games like  온라인 카지노 into your chill vibes.

And what better prize than our first track from Danish musician Galimatias which is an absolute delight. There is certainly something going on in Scandinavia right now when you have artists like this and Norway’s Cashmere Cat producing some truly special sounds that are taking the world by storm. ‘Marshmallow Grove’ and ‘Lakeside Blu’ are just a few examples of this magic being brewed for our ears. And if we’re talking global sensations, Bondax have certainly been gaining attention far beyond their UK homeland, and their latest summer jam ‘Giving it All’ is certain to keep that momentum going. But it’s not all happening in Europe, and there’s plenty to enjoy from US artists as well. This sexy remix of ‘Her Favorite Song’ from Oliver is out to prove just that,  as well as another batch of ‘C O O L’ remixes with the release of Le Youth’s EP. Dojo favourite Lane 8 is our pick of the bunch, so if you’ve happened to miss all the other versions we’ve featured, make sure not to sleep on this one.  Now it’s been a while since we’ve ended the playlist with a fun little novelty track, and in late celebration of the 4th of July, we’ve got Giraffage’s hilarious remake of ‘Party in the USA’. As amusing as it is, it’s actually quite impressive how the quality production transforms the grating tone of the Miley Cyrus original into something so listenable.

But no matter where you hail from, we’re celebrating the amazing sounds coming from all corners of the globe. That’s what music is all about. Peace out.

Take Back The Night

The sequel to Justin Timberlake‘s The 20/20 Experience is set to arrive on September 30th, and today we finally have the first taste of what’s to come. While many of us still have the first album in rotation, it’s no secret that we’re eager to see what JT has in store for us this fall. “Take Back The Night” features a sound that’s unmistakably Timberlake, picking up where he last left off on March’s The 20/20 Experience. Just like JT led the revolution to reclaim “SexyBack” in 2006, he’s again leading another revival, this time hoping to rekindle magic on the dance floor with this lush, disco-tinged pop tune. Check out the single below, and see how it compares to the last album’s lead single, “Suit & Tie.” If you like it enough, make sure to grab yourself a copy on iTunes.
