[Hip-Hop] G-Eazy – Monica Lewinsky (Feat. Skizzy Mars & KYLE) + The Day It All Changed

With his debut album These Things Happen set to drop later this month, the homie G-Eazy decided to share a few freebies that didn’t quite make it to the album. While it would be nice to hear a preview of what Eazy has in store for us on June 23rd, we’re not complaining about the two unreleased tracks we have below. The first of these songs, “Monica Lewinsky,” finds the talented spitter getting in touch with his ratchet side, teaming up with frequent collaborators, Skizzy Mars and KYLE, to floss about the perks of the typical rapper lifestyle.

Things get a bit more serious on the second of the two releases, “The Day It All Changed,” as the talented emcee describes the moment his life was forever altered over an ominous instrumental provided by Kane Beatz. Both tunes are incredibly solid, and in our minds, could have easily made it on to G-Eazy’s album, or at least one of his mixtapes. It only makes us curious however about the material that did end up on the finish product, if this was left on the cutting room floor.

[Hip-Hop] G-Eazy – Sleepless (Feat. Nylo) (Prod. Blackbear) + Tumblr Girls (Feat. Christoph Andersson) + Last Night (Feat. Kyle & Devon)

While we still have yet to see a release date for These Things Happen, we now have an idea of what level of quality to expect from the upcoming project. It’s clear that G-Eazy is as focused as he’s ever been, as all three of these B-sides sound like they could have easily made it onto his previous efforts. From the tranquil and hazy “Sleepless” alongside Chicagoan songstress NYLO, to the reflective Christoph Andersson-produced “Tumblr Girls,” and finally the laidback, poolside vibes of “Last Night” featuring up and comer KYLE and familiar collaborator Devon, the singles all may vary in style, but they provide a cohesive, polished view of the sonic direction Gerald seems to be headed in with this new album. Download the free tracks below, and don’t forget to grab your tickets for his upcoming tour, which will be hitting the road late next month.
