[Hip-Hop] Big Sean – Guap (Prod. Key Wane & Young Chop) & She (feat. Common) (Prod. No I.D.)

After the recent announcement of his sophomore album, Hall of Fame: Memoirs of a Detroit Player, Big Sean decided to commemorate the declaration by dropping the album’s first single. With a tropical-trill vibe resonating throughout, Big Sean flaunts his newfound wealth and explains how he plans to spend it all, presumably while on fancy island resorts in Hawaii. Sean decides to take some time to recognize his haters on the track as well, dedicating the song’s chorus to all of his enemies and ex-girls. All and all, “Guap” is a pretty good party track and should help provide some warmth in the cold months to come.

On the other side of the coin, we have what may be another leak from Big Sean’s new album in “She” featuring former G.O.O.D. music associate Common, crafted by super-producer, No I.D, the mastermind behind the instrumentals for much of his debut. On this track, Sean enters some unfamiliar territory discussing the subject of fathering an illegitimate child. “She” is a bit more serious than what you’d normally expect from the young Detroit legend, but it’s a refreshing change of pace and step towards maturity as a musician for the young Big Sean.

Enjoy some quality hip-hop below and look out for his albumwhich will hit stores December 18th. With these strong releases, Big Sean’s second album might be shaping up to be something real special.

[Hip-Hop] Common – No Sell Out (Prod. No I.D.)

If you’ve been following Common‘s rap career since its very inception, you would probably agree that it’s pretty easy for him to claim that he’s no sell-out (although his acting career might provide some room for argument there). All kidding aside, this previously unreleased collaboration between Common and his right hand-man No I.D. is truly a gem.  This reportedly didn’t make it onto 2011’s excellent, The Dreamer/The Believer album, leaving us wondering what other great tracks got left on the cutting room floor.  Maybe we’ll get those on a mixtape someday, but one can only hope.  Until then, keep this on repeat and ponder about what other classics this duo may have produced together.

Nas – Loco-Motive feat. Large Professor (Produced by No I.D.)

As soon as the beat drops you have to ask yourself if this is 1994 again? Damnit it’s not Illamtic, but the song screams 1990’s hip hop. Void of the electro vibes that’s become a main stay in today’s rap, Loco-Motive is a nostalgic track and plays intentionally so. It only make’s sense with Large Proffessor helping produce this track, the same producer who helped Nas on Illmatic. If Nas’s up coming album Life is Good stays true to this formula then expect it to be mentioned as one of best rap albums this year.
