Scottish producer Rustie has been sneakily flooding Soundcloud with manic, mind-blowing productions for the last few months including one he apparently made in the hospital. Yesterday, he casually announced his latest album EVENIFUDONTBELIEVE along with the release of “Peace Upzzz,” which is track 6 from the project. As promised, Rustie’s latest album dropped this morning and it’s a monster. With 15 tracks, it’s some of Rustie’s most ambitious and bombastic work to date drawing clear influence from Glasgow’s electronic scene referencing Happy Hardcore in some of its aesthetics while maintaining a grandiose, trap-influenced sound. You may notice a few tracks on the album are appended (feat. Rustie) signifying that Rustie contributed either guitar or vocals along with production. Although he rose to popularity during EDM Trap’s prime, to constrain Rustie‘s music to that sub-genre would be selling it short. His grandiose, intoxicating productions never fail to impress and, as of late, he’s been putting out the best material of his young career. About a month ago he dropped an enormous remix of Jack Ü‘s “Where Are Ü Now” and, yesterday, he let loose yet another absolute mindfuck of an edit taking on Gammer‘s “Nostalgia,” which we’ve also included above.

After two flawless remixes, Rustie put out his first original track in a while this morning noting that he’s getting tired of waiting on upcoming release dates. “Big Catzz” opens with a fluttering, marching band-esque drum line before erupting with into an enormous synth interlude that’s quickly accompanied by a high-pitched backing melody. Triumphantly, the song climaxes into a glitchy chorus. As good as it is, “Big Catzz” almost feels like a musical sketch for Rustie–nonetheless the engineering is flawless and it flexes his versatility with trance-y undertones accompanying his signature heaven-trap style. It sounds like Rustie’s got some new music coming soon but, in the meantime, turn these ones up for your Thursday night shenanigans and grab a couple free downloads above.

With his second studio album, Green Language, set to drop next month (the follow-up to 2011’s Glass Swords), Rustie decided to leak one of the most anticipated singles from the project, “Attak,” featuring frequent collaborator, Danny Brown. The track is just as insane as you might expect, opening with wailing sirens and a wave of skittering 808’s that urge Danny to do what he does best–spit like a homicidal maniac, unleashing his lunacy all over the beat until he runs out of breath. This non-stop thrill ride could’ve easily gone on for another two minutes, though a full blown “Attak” like that could be dangerous to one’s health. Well, we wouldn’t have to worry about that, because we’re ninjas, so we’re really just looking out for you.

The Trap Dojo is here again with all the beats to wank you out of your boring life and drop you into a euphoric land of 808s, where the sidewalks clap with snares on every off-step and you can feel comfortable either throwing a deuce out of the side of a smoke filled lowrider or singing along with emotionally charged remixes of tween pop-hits and everything in between. Brillz does what he does best on this heavy track thats certified to turn any turnt up dance floor into a full scale, elbows and fists, moshpit. The only thing that could possibly make Keys N Krates killer track any beter might be some sharp lyrics which King Louie, Tree & Cyhi the Prince deliver on this remix. Rustie and Salva remix a couple killer hew hip-hop tracks including verses from Pusha T, Tyler the Creator and Sage the Gemini and K Theory keeps the hip hop vibe right on going with an original track. Rustie‘s been in the news a lot as of late, thanks to fresh tracks like “Slasherr” (above) and “Triadzz”. This week he continues to keep us on our toes with a brand spanking new mini mix for Jackmaster’s show on BBC Radio 1. Aired last night, it features a number of goodies, including a new Pusha T remix, an unknown Pharrell Williams track, as well as cuts by Timbaland and Hit-Boy.

The Trap Dojo #30

This 30th edition of the Trap Dojo is coming at you with a ton of incredible tracks this week, kicking off with Kayzo & Slander‘s massive Showtek remix. This has that great big-room/festival sound that I’m sure even Showtek themselves would play live and blow the roof off. Next, our friends from Germany, Donkong with a track off their new EP, and another track later in the list. “Jaws” contains exactly the buildup you would expect from a song with that name, but drops into some bouncy trap with more dubstep elements slowly surfacing throughout. Cesqeaux comes with more of that heavy big-room sound, and Smookie Illson flips some classic female dancefloor hip-hop into a beast of a stuttering track with some crazy lyric chops. Virtually the entire second half of the list is filled with Latin and island influences, starting with Spenda C with some reggae and No Doubt lyrics. There are some remixes of classic merengue, spanish euro-house and finally a couple of double-time moombahtrap songs to really get your feet moving. Finally the list finishes off with a smooth remix of A$AP Rocky from Ray Complex.

Welcome to the first Trap Dojo on the revamped site. Our first track is an incredibly sexy remix of Frank Ocean‘s “Super Rich Kids”. Bird Peterson makes this song smoother than the cocoa butter you`ll be spreading on your girls back while listening to it (or visa versa). Next, Mr. Vega hits us with a ton of sharp bars from several different rappers on this vocal remix of his track “I’m Livin”. ETC. ETC. and Brillz bring you back to late 80s Harlem with their own take on the New Jack Swing. This is a track you can definitely do the (real) Harlem Shake to. If you aren’t familiar with Rustie then take note. This Scottish DJ has been huge in the UK Dubstep and Grime scene since back in 07, and this track is absolutely infectious. With this remix of Chief Keef‘s “I Don’t Like”, Willy Joy shows how he’s able to turn a hard hitting rap anthem into a dance floor banger, switching back and forth between the original instrumentals and his crazy remix, this time with a hype Moombah flip. The end of the list contains a great lovetrap mashup from Watapachi with some smooth lyrics from 50 Cent, some Keys N Krates, a trio of musicians who actually perform their songs live, a real treat in the modern EDM age, and some Future Screw, from the master of Future Screw, Trill Scott Heron.
