[Future] Seinabo Sey – Pistols At Dawn (Lucian x Mickey Valen Remix)

Seinabo Sey
Pistols At Dawn (Lucian x Mickey Valen Remix)

Being a newcomer to all of the artists involved in this tune, I wasn’t sure what to expect. Needless to say, after giving it a whirl, I was floored. Preserving the clear and crisp vocals of Seinabo Sey, Lucian and Mickey Valen shape a pop infused, futuristic masterpiece that could be just as much of a radio single as it is a SoundCloud gem. The piano offsets the huge, sawed off drops nicely and give the whole track a nice balance between every ebb and flow. Pop sensibilities face off with the new, transformative and exciting styles that have dominated the SoundCloud community and the winner every time is the listener. If you’re looking for a good segway track from more mainstream material, this remix courtesy of Lucian and Mickey Valen is a great place to start this fresh transition.

[Soulful Twist] Seinabo Sey – Pistols At Dawn

Seinabo Sey
Pistols At Dawn

Let me tell you one thing, if you found yourself in a room with Swedish singer Seinabo Sey and the woman opened her mouth to sing, everyone, I mean everyone, would stop and listen. Besides having one of the greatest names in the industry, Sey has a powerful soulful voice that just radiates down to your core. Deep and sensual, Seinbo tells the story of a love gone bad in her recent single ‘Pistols At Dawn’ off of her debut EP slated for release in mid-October. Her lyrics tell a powerful story, such as ‘I’d rather die tonight if I have to, why would you ever think I would take a bullet for you?” I mean, she shoots straight with this single, and she hits the bull’s-eye.

Sunday Night Soul [Vol. 4]

It’s the first weekend of December, meaning I, like most of you out there, spent my Sunday stuck inside watching the snowflakes gently trickle down to the ground. Being trapped indoors isn’t always a bad thing however. At least you now have an excuse to huddle around the fireplace as you listen to the latest edition of Sunday Night Soul (if you don’t have a fireplace, a space heater will have to do). This edition is packed further to the brim than that mug of piping hot cocoa you’re gripping onto right now, with tasty selections from some of the most talented singers from across the web. It’s hard to pick a favorite from this crop, but I’d like to point your attention to offerings from newcomers Snoh Aalegra, Rosie LoweDrew Love, and SPZRKT.
