STWO – Eden (Nightizm Remix) [TMN PREMIERE]

Stwo
Eden (Nightizm Remix)

Last week HW&W artist Stwo revealed the winners of his “Eden” remix contest, narrowing down a field of over 400 submissions to just 13. While you may feel like you’ve already had your fill of “Eden” remixes, we’re here to tell you why you need to make room for at least one more. Clocking in at just under six minutes, Nightizm‘s extended reimagining makes for an extremely engrossing listen marked by hypnotic synths, haunting bass and crackling snares. Whereas the original presents itself as an introduction building up to something much larger, Nightizm’s rendition takes a different approach, choosing to arrange an experience that is truly immersive from start to finish.

This rendition of “Eden” is yet another remarkable tune to add to Nightizm’s already impressive resumé. Download the track above, and if you’re not familiar with him yet, make sure to check out the rest of the Toronto native’s excellent catalog over on his official SoundCloud page.

[Chill] Stwo – Frontiers (“Tour Life” – Rashiid Remix)

Stwo
Frontiers (Tour Life - The After Remix)

You could try and find Rashiid on the soil of San Francisco, but you won’t find much about him on the Internet. Re-posted on Soundcloud by producer, Stwo, the dubbed “Tour Life” remix for “Frontiers” is powerful. As soon as it begins it feels epic. You’re really lucky to have found such a settling tune today. “1005 hands clapping again.”  Rashiid flaunts his ability to both rap and sing on such a stunning instrumental. All sorts of talent on display here. There is something really so special about his voice that will propel this song all over the place. It puts you in a mood that’s easy to enjoy. Being just his second release, it’s exciting that we’re just getting to know Rashiid. This serves as a follow-up to “The Bill Collector“, a remix to “See” by Tycho. Gear up for more from this potential breakout star of 2015. “So many nights I’m goin dumb to get this money ya’ll.”

[Future Trap] BANKS – Drowning (Stwo Remix)

BANKS
Drowning (Stwo Remix)

There is nothing more exciting than anticipating new music from Stwo. The French producer is renowned for transforming tracks into gold and, with his latest release, he certainly does not disappoint. Reworking “Drowning” by the LA lovechild BANKS, Stwo has once again proven that he is the remix king. Going with a minimalist trap beat, Jillian Banks’s vocals shine mixing perfectly with the ominous, emotionally-driven tune. Stwo definitely elevated the listening experience by throwing in his signature elements. He is so good at curating songs to remix that it’s easy to mistake his renditions for the originals.

Sharing is caring, and Stwo has always been extremely generous with giving out free music. Make sure to grab a free download via his SoundCloud here, and catch the him on a stop of his North American tour with Snakehips. Trust us, you do not want to miss out!

[MP3 Playlist] The Chill Dojo #68

And we’re back! After a bit of a break the Chill Dojo is ready to launch into the new year with its signature lineup of stellar tunes discovered over the holiday period. 2013 was a massive year and we can’t wait to see what 2014 has to offer. If this first edition is any indication, we’re in for a very enjoyable time.

We kick things off with a golden cover of a track that has seen plenty of remixes featured in past playlists. Le Youth’s ‘C O O L’ has been the gift that keeps on giving for lovers of chill music, and this sultry RnB cover from London duo July Child certainly continues this trend. The amazing vocals alone were enough to sell us on this one, but when the beat kicked in just after the minute mark consider us well and truly under its spell. 2013 was an incredible year of releases for the Future Classic label, and one that happened to slip past us late in the year was an uplifting remix of Panama courtesy of none other than Cosmo’s Midnight. In signature fashion they put their retro style on full display in a way that is sure to make you smile. This song doesn’t have a care in the world, and that’s something we can all appreciate. Fans of that feeling will love another recently discovered gem from young Canadian prodigy Syre. One listen and you’ll agree that we’re sure to hear more from this talented producer in the dojo this year. If you were caught napping early last week, you may have missed this feature on a fresh new tune from Sydney’s Empia. We heard a lot of this rich electronic sound coming out of this city last year, and we’re more than happy for a good thing to continue into 2014. It’s going to be a long while before we’ve had enough of this style. Another thing sure to keep on this year is seeing Stwo dominate the various playlists on the site. If you happened to miss the latest from him in recent weeks, then let this be a reminder that he’s not one to sleep on.

So did you miss us? We could only keep these tracks to ourself for so long. Peace out.
