Around The Block (Tnertle Remix)
There’s a little contest going on right now for artists to remix Pretty Lights song “Around the Block” which features Talib Kweli. Derek Vincent Smith teamed up with Indaba Music for this hoping that musicians will take some of the many interesting sounds from the song and use those as inspiration for a killer remix. One Colorado artist who has put his own twist on PL’s song is Tnertle. Trent Campbell is a master on the midi controllers combined with a mix of samples and this musician has quite a wonderful sound. For his remix, Tnertle added samples from other PL songs as well as using his own rhythms and melodies. If you have time, go vote for this guy because this remix has the beauty of a PL song with a twist of Tnertle to give the remix a bit of an edge.
