[Event Preview] CRSSD Festival – San Diego 3/14-3/15

Spring is around the corner, which means that it’s almost festival season! As one of our first stops, TMN is going to the CRSSD festival in San Diego. Taken place at the Waterfront Park on March 14 and 15, CRSSD fest features some of the frontrunners and up-and-comers in today’s electronic music. Powerhouses including Empire of the Sun, Chromeo, Odesza, Flight Facilities are headlining the festival at the “Ocean View Live” stage, while deeper acts like Kaytranada, Thomas Jack, Bakermat and Bixel Boys will try to win the crowd at “The Palms” stage.

The three-stage set up will definitely give a refreshing feel to all festival-goers. Thousands will gather at Waterfront Park and dance their pants off while overseeing the beautiful city of San Diego. With its popularity rising at such a high rate, CRSSD festival is representing sunny San Diego by stepping its game up. We are very excited to be able to witness the very first debut of the festival, as there will be many more in the future.

[Vinyl Giveaway] Warren G – Regulate…G Funk Era (Album Reissue + Remixes)

Warren G
Regulate (Destructo & Wax Motif Remix)

Warren G‘s Regulate…G Funk Era album has stood the test of time as a project that helped defined a whole genre along with classics like Dr. Dre‘s The Chronic and Snoop Dogg‘s Dogystyle. Although G-Funk’s prime has passed, it has had a lasting impact not only in hip-hop introducing melodious flows and funky production but also across genres even inspiring the inception of G-House. To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the multi-platinum selling classic, Def Jam/Universal put together a re-issue of Regulate…G Funk Era that features 3 EDM remixes of its smooth, timeless title track. It’s only fitting that one of the remixes comes from Australian trap-leaning producer Wax Motif and LA’s own Destructo, who’s recent West Coast EP updates the classic sounds of his home coast. Give Wax and Destructo’s dope take on “Regulate,” which strikes a perfect balance between the original and hard-hitting electronic elements, above.

We’re excited to be giving away a Vinyl and CD of the reissue including the full original album and the remix above along with two more from Jaux and Photek. Enter your email below to enter! We will be accepting participants through next Thursday, 12/18, and the winner will be notified via email the morning of 12/19. If you can’t wait, though, you can also purchase the vinyl/CD/digital version now here.

[Electro] Wax Motif X Hunter Siegel – All Night Man

Wax Motif X Hunter Siegel
All Night Man

Get your shuffle pants on because Wax Motif just came out with this new banger titled “All Night Man”! The Sydney-born DJ teamed up with Colorado-based producer Hunter Siegel to create this electro goody, and they certainly did not disappoint. The hardhitting bass definitely takes the spotlight of this tune, followed by this deep robotic voice sample that repeats throughout the track. The hardstep takes you to the breakdown in the middle, making you take a second to appreciate how underrated commercial dance music is.

This is the first we’ve heard from the talented producer ever since his performance at Hard Summer, but he’s definitely making a name for himself in the electro house genre. We are excited to see more of him.
