[Indie] Wet – It’s All In Vain

Wet
It's All in Vain

As they prepare for their debut album with Columbia Records, Wet gives us “It’s All In Vain,” a graceful and resounding single that pairs striking vocals with effervescent production in an absolutely effortless manner. The lyrics touch on the ever present conundrum that is love and succeeds in communicating the difficulty and apprehension that it often leads to and entails. The celestial instrumentation cascades freely in a chilling atmosphere, holding together an overarching sense of wonder and serenity that Wet has mastered through a string of consistently fascinating songs, including “Losing All We Knew” and a stunning cover of “Chasing Pavements” by Adele.

If you’re searching for a tune to rebuild your composure after or during some recent emotional sting, which all of us will need at some point, “It’s All In Vain” is a stellar place to start. This glimpse into their debut album, Don’t You, shines as a promising introduction, not that it comes as any surprise to anyone familiar with this talented trio. Find yourself a small sense of bliss today while delving into this noteworthy tune. You won’t regret it.

[Tropical House] Wet – Don’t Wanna Be Your Girl (Thero Remix)

Wet
Don't Wanna Be Your Girl (Thero Remix)

Following the release of his Noosa remix, Floridian producer Thero came out with a remix of this Wet’s tune titled “Don’t Wanna Be Your Girl”. Looking to set off this tropical house craze even more, Thero is definitely one of the front runners in the genre.

The synths are consonant with the original song and they always bring a smile to your face. It’s so pleasurable to listen to, you can imagine it being used in a Donkey Kong video game, or played at a Hawaiian beach restaurant. Similar to most of his other mixes, Thero always seals the deal with that killer saxophone sample throughout the song and leaving you in infatuation. The bar is set pretty high in the revival movement of tropical music, soon enough he’ll be mentioned together with names like Kygo and Klingande. Needless to say, Thero is an exciting artist to watch for.

[Sexy] Wet – No Lie (Noah Breakfast Remix) (Feat. Spank Rock)

Wet
No Lie (Noah Breakfast Remix Ft. Spank Rock)

Xaphoon Jones is no more, and Noah Breakfast finally emerges to take his place. It’s kind of like when Robin split from Batman, and embraced the identity of Nightwing to ironically spread his wings and vanquish evil on his own, except in this case our hero stays steady slaying remixes. Comic book comparisons aside, we’re glad to welcome Noah in with open arms as he serves up this sultry remake of Wet‘s “No Lie.” In contrast to the ruminating, restrained nature of the original, this spunky revamp is a blipped out, glitchy affair with a sticky bass that’ll force you to want to loop endlessly “on and on and on and on…” Also featuring a worthy verse from Philly’s Spank Rock, this tune makes for a perfect listen at the beginning or end of your night. Peep the single above, and treat yourself to a free download as well.

[Close Your Eyes] Wet – Dreams

wetnyc
Dreams

They call themselves Wet.
A simple word for a wonderfully not so simple group.
From NYC, this trio’s music takes on an almost water like feeling, with the flowing melodies and the beautiful tender voice of their lead singer mixed with quiet instrumentals, the group creates a sound to stream through one ear and out the other. Their song ‘Dreams’ is one of their magical songs, filled with an almost soul sound and leaves the listener in a dream-like state of music euphoria. A song of looking at everyday and seeing the simplicities in each day, good and bad, and letting the dreams be shared with the ones you love. Wet has a striking sound and we are always down with flowing away on their music.
