[Chill] Elk Road – Hurt No More

Elk Road
Hurt No More

The bar for creativity in the electronic music sphere is being raised more and more every day and Elk Road has been doing most of the lifting. Though he isn’t a household name yet, the young Aussie soundscaper is well on his way to becoming one, not only through the superb productions exemplified through his newest release “Hurt No More”, but also through his own imprint Deer Lane. When words cannot describe a song in enough detail, sometimes the second best thing to do is listen however I will try and leave you with some parting thoughts. Before you melt away in this track completely, we want you to try and think of a song you love that sounds even remotely like this. Pretty tricky right? You definitely hear GRIZ and Pretty Lights elements to it, but it’s certainly an Elk Road record. The other thing you will probably notice is that while you can definitely identify this as an Elk Road track, you can’t really put a finger on why. You’ll go through his discography and discover no two of his songs sound alike and in fact what you are identifying as his personal brand is predominantly based on a craftsmanship and dedication to originality that us Yanks simply can’t match. Any genre, any BPM, any vocals; Elk Road will do it better.

[TMN Premiere] Big Sean – IDFWU (CRVFTSMEN REMIX)

IDFWU (CRVFTSMEN REMIX)
Big Sean

It’s been a hot minute since we’ve posted anything remotely similar to this 808 trap, but this new joint by CRVFTSMEN was far too good to pass up. This Boston-based trio has been making some of the best hip-hop remixes out there for quite some time, however they flew onto everyone’s radar in a hurry with this new Big Sean cut. CRVFTSMEN make their TMN debut today with IDFWU, their latest and greatest remix that is just bursting at the seams with energy. It’s still widely debated in some circles how to properly dance to trap, but I can tell you certainly won’t care when this drops at a club as you hurdle your way to the dancefloor.

[TMN Premiere] The Chainsmokers – Kanye (ALMOND & SAMME REMIX)

The Chainsmokers
Kanye (feat. sirenXX) [ALMOND & SAMME Remix]

Another week, another Chainsmokers post but I promise you this one is well worth your while. “Kanye” has been the self-empowerment song of the summer, and it certainly slaps too. If the original didn’t inspire you enough, it certainly did for Almond & Samme, two upcoming producers who make their Ninja debut tonight. Although this isn’t the first time the two have teamed up, as Yeezus himself would say, this one is God level. With festival season just starting up down south in hotbeds like Australia, Brazil, and the South Pacific, look for this energetic, upbeat edit to pick up some serious steam and support. What may sound like stereotypical progressive house melodies on the surface turns out to be extremely intricate and those vocal chops at the end are something else. Be like Kanye and jam out to this one time.

Bixel Boys use FREELIFE to help raise money for Camp Kasem

We do our damn hardest to only bring you guys the best music we can find and stray away from the news you may find on other sites, however when it comes to helping a great cause get off the ground, we’re more than willing to help!

When you think of the hot fashion buys of 2014, your mind probably drifts to thoughts of the newest Supreme line or a new roster of dresses by a European designer like Fendi or YSL. However, this is not the case in the music industry. Producers, fans, and executives alike from all across the industry, especially in the electronic music sphere, have been fiending to get there hands on one of these:
The Jersey

The Bixel Boys, one of the Los Angeles music scene’s crown jewels, are both genius on and off the stage. While the duo is well-known around the world for their incredible production skills and DJ showmanship, they have gained almost a cult following in the Southland for their branding of these #FREELIFE jerseys. The FREELIFE mantra is something you define in your own words and your own lifestyle, however we at TMN take it as a call to live your life to the best of your abilities, despite the odds and obstacles, and find happiness in the company of others and yourself. It truly is a wonderful call to action, which is why so many producers in the spotlight like Skrillex and Cashmere Cat have been wearing the kits and spreading the message wherever they can.

Cashmere CatThe shirts have been held under limited release until now. On October 7th, these jerseys will be available for public purchase one time only. All proceeds will go towards Camp Kesem, a non-profit organization that provides a free summer camp for children whose parents have been affected by cancer. Let me repeat that: not only do you get to buy this incredible jersey, but you are literally changing lives while you do it. Everyone you know has in some way been affected by this terrible disease and I don’t think there is a singe living soul on Earth that wouldn’t want to see cancer eradicated as fast as possible. There are no gimmicks here, no ulterior motives: just a genuine movement reaching out to those who need it most.

You can opt-in to the campaign now on Thunderclap to help spread the word about this incredible opportunity to change lives and you will be one of the first notified of the public release when it launches two weeks from today. Be a part of history and make a difference for the children today!

[Electronic] Anna Of The North – Sway (The Chainsmokers Remix)

Anna of the North
Sway (The Chainsmokers Remix)(Free DL)

For those of you who may have first caught wind of The Chainsmokers through “Selfie” (and who blames you), you may not know that the duo got their first following in the industry by producing remixes of some of the most eclectic group of indie artists in the market today. They were some listener’s first introductions to Say Lou Lou, ASTR, and Banks. Now that the two are on two bigger and grander things like XM Radio shows, multimillion dollar recording deals, and creators of the song that nearly broke Youtube, they decided to take a nostalgic trip back to their indie roots and try out a new remix. Luckily for us, they picked up TMN-favorite Anna Of The North and her single “Sway” and bring her into the spotlight. The Norwegian dream pop starlet gets her angelic voice reinforced by the Chainsmokers’ outstanding production which is quite honestly a match made in heaven. AOTN was our best kept secret, but it seems like she will be ruling the airwaves sooner than we previously thought thanks to this long-anticipated remix by two of the industry’s best.
