[Video] Jungle – Platoon

Based around an infectious rhythm that balances a seriously funky, head-nodding groove with sleek synthesis, Jungle’s debut single, “Platoon”, is an immersive introduction to the London based collective. Set for a July 15 release on Chess Club records, the video matches the restrained groove of the single with an amped up and uninhibited B-Girl routine by the coolest six year old in town. Jessie Ware is finally set to release her sublime 2012 debut album Devotion in the US on April 16th via Cherrytree Records. Building on the eleven track UK release, the US edition contains an additional four songs, including a reworked “Wildest Moments” feat. A$AP Rocky and new Julio Bashmore produced “Imagine it Was Us”; a sultry, house-inspired track that sees the London-based songstress stepping up the tempo.

The first single from the album, “The Way We Fall”, is a melancholic introduction to Alela’s forthcoming LP that sees the Portland based folk singer lamenting about lost love over haunting guitar swells. As the song fades to a gentle close, the emotional turbulence of the first half of “The Way We Fall” slips into a delicate outro, as if realizing that despite the heartache, it’s better to have loved and lost than not loved at all …

Having already stopped off in Lisbon and New York, Brolin continues his worldwide track-list tour with Reykjavik. Turning to the Icelandic capital for the lead track of his upcoming “Cundo” EP, “Reykjavik” is the most upbeat track we’ve heard from the London based producer and vocalist to date, yet still retains the bruised textures laced through the rest of the EP.
