Their new tune “Mr. Quiche” has a solid percussive base that is filled out by keys, synth textures, and infectious vocal lines. The trio’s combined efforts work together to create an atmosphere and mood that make indie fans feel right at home while still exposing them to something fresh and new. Overall the song is really well done and leaves me excited for the band to finish recording their debut record.

As a service term, hospitality represents the welcome, care, and entertainment of guests and strangers. The band, though, gives the term a meaning of its own.

Brooklyn band Hospitality is fronted by Kansas City’s Amber Papini, whose voice dances in the influence of Artists like Regina Spector, Laura Gibson, and Jesy Fortino. She combines the most exciting points of all three and pairs the delivery with a sturdy backing band that features Brian Betancourt on bass/vocals and the electro-guru-turned-drummer, Nathan Michel.

The band has recently put out a self titled album that’s received great reception. The track “All Day Today” is a perfect example of the lovably upbeat feel of the album and the vocal delivery I mentioned before. With tracks like “All Day Today” Hospitality has managed to live up to its name by offering their audience some real, memorable, entertainment that make their new LP definitely worth a listen.

“I’m very proud of this as my first real LP, and the statement it makes. It fully represents where I’ve come to as an electronic artist.” said Vancouver’s Teen Daze, in an interview, speaking of his forthcoming release titled All Of Us, Together. Turning his eyes from a long string of EP’s to a more unified work of cohesive electronic music is, not so much a challenge as it is a landmark for the artist; who has publicly claimed the new album as a statement of self realization and utopian dreams, calling it “synthetic music with a heart”.

The first released single “Brooklyn Sunburn” is a great example of the sentiment Teen Daze has been trying to invoke, bursting with quick paced snares, keys, and synth textures mesmerize and enchant. The song is on point and liquid, reshaping itself with every subtle change to the beat, embracing the joys of utopia, awareness , and well placed tambourine.

All Of Us, Together is set for release on May 22nd 2012.

Brooklynites Beach Fossils are working on their sophomore record, which the band say is set to challenge the safeness of current indie rock. ‘Shallow’ is part of a forthcoming double-A-side single, and while it’s still dreamy and a bit fuzzy, it packs a lot of bite. A definite sign of good things to come, ‘Shallow’ is out on February 21.

Ok Go has done it again.

Since their formation in 1998, OK Go has been known equally for their video musings and note worthy breed of pop rock. Their video for “Here It Goes Again” won a grammy and set the bar really high for any follow up videos the band might put out… and they’ve consistently met their goal. The video for their new single “Needing/Getting” is no different. The video took around four months to set up, four days to shoot, and over fourteen hundred instruments for the car to play.

Yes, you read that right. The band has rigged a Chevy Sonic with gadgets and gizmos that smack, slap, pluck, and pound on various instruments the band has set up on their music desert obstacle course, making this their most in depth offering to date.

Indie/folk band Of Monsters And Men have been making a lot of headway in the past couple of years; winning Iceland’s national battle of bands known as Músíktilraunir (roughly translating to “music experiments”) in 2010 to get the ball rolling. They followed up their triumph by getting international airplay with their single “Little Talks” from their Into The Woods EP (below) and landing a deal with a major label.

To solidify their presence on the world stage, the band has chosen April 3rd 2012 as the American release date for their debut album, My Head is an Animal, which will be released on Universal Republic. In support of their release they will be hitting the road, kicking things off in Austin, TX for SXSW (full schedule below).

Swedish trio Turn Off Your Television take their influences from pop across the decades, and create beautifully sweet and twee tunes. ‘I Just Cleaned The Floor’ is one such track, and sounds like a long-lost Two Door Cinema Club hit (with just a hint of Belle & Sebastian). One for fans of jangly guitars and bubblegum lyrics, Turn Off Your Television have the potential to be massive this year, and one listen of their back catalogue will have you craving more.

Australian indie pop group Antonio Paul first made a name for themselves with the Treasures EP, a collection of upbeat D.I.Y. tracks that they were able to create by slaving away on a sample pad, an iPad , and a guitar.  They’ve come a long way since then, having played Groove in’ The Moo in May of last year, opening for bands like Jinja Safari, and using organic drumming (see the video for “Sweet Wine”).

With the End Of The World EP, released on January 13th, the band hopes to maintain the momentum they found on Treasures with songs like “City Dreams”. I think they’ve done it. End of The World is an upbeat and ambitious work, blending influence of punk and american grunge with the bands already indie pop sound. Count on fast and melodic delivery, technical guitar leads, and pounding bass drums driving the EP forward.

Indie favorites Anthony Green (Circa Survive) and Nate Ruess (Fun.) have teamed up for  collaboration that was long overdue. The talents meet in harmonious union on “Only Love” from Green’s new solo album Beautiful Things. “I never wanted to be your only love” sings Green in the song’s hook, summarizing the general tone of both vocal parts in a way that is undeniably catchy. The song is more electronic than anything I’ve heard from either Nate or Anthony, so it’s kind of cool to see their versatility.
