[Indie Cover] Kaerhart – For What It’s Worth

For What It's Worth

Buffalo Springfield’s iconic single “For What It’s Worth” is a timeless record. It didn’t need an update, but we’re glad it got one from the singer Kaerhart. Her dark, poppy take is totally different than the original, but we all recognize those powerful lyrics.

Kaerhart’s performance of the song is phenomenal and DEAD ROBOT’s production is equally as magnificent. Together their ethereal sound lures you into its web of sound and you let yourself get wrapped up in it without hesitation. Kaerhart is one of those artists that is going to have a big year in 2018. She just launched her project a few months ago, so expect a lot more to come from her in the coming months.

Selfish Skin – Wicked Game (Prod. Strehlow) [TMN Premiere]

Selfish Skin
Wicked Game (prod. Strehlow)

To kick off the week we’ve got a special premiere for you here in the dojo. Selfish Skin and the producer Strehlow have come together for a seductive cover/remix of “Wicked Game” by Chris Isaaks. The 1989 single comes to 2017 with a whole new face and we’re loving it.

Selfish Skin shares a style in performance to the original, keeping with its style for audiences to recognize. Of course, she gives a bit of her own flare to the song, updating it with simple strokes from her unique palate. Strehlow’s instrumental keeps along with the original’s more vibey sound. It’s atmospheric and incredibly easy to lose yourself in. Hit play, turn repeat on and start your week off right with “Wicked Game” in its new form. Want a copy? Head over to Bandcamp for it.

[Music Video] EMBRZ – Heartlines feat. Meadowlark (Acoustic)

“Heartlines” by EMBRZ and Meadowlark was a superb single released by Ultra Music that we played over and over when it came out. Now, we’re doing it again, but this time around it is the acoustic version of the song we’re jamming to. Not only that, but we get to see the musicians play it live with a video.

Beautiful would be an understatement for this. It’s something you have to experience to truly understand just how special it is. We thought “Heartlines” couldn’t get any better, but then they go on ahead and swoon us with this. If you’re starstruck like us, you might want to grab yourself a copy of the acoustic version from digital platforms today.
