[House] Codeko – Woke Up (Chochos Remix)

Codeko
Woke Up (Chochos Remix)

The California to Arizona duo Chochos has come forth with their debut release. They’ve launched with a remix of Codeko’s “Woke Up” and released it as a free download for new fans to grab if they wish.

From the start the duo establish a fun tone with some wild sounds and bustling percussion that lead us into the heat of the party. Chochos went all out for this party popping flip. It is reminiscent of the festival-centric electro house from the big room era. These two bring that sound forward to now and stamp their feet down firmly as an act to watch out for in 2019.

The Music Ninja Presents: Mega Summer Playlist 2018

With the dog days of summer upon us, we think it’s important as ever to reflect on the past few months. For us, naturally, that reflection takes the form of our Mega Summer Playlist. These used to be a yearly tradition of ours that unfortunately fell by the wayside, but it is one that we sorely missed. We have been trying to keep the tradition alive with a much smaller taste for fans of our weekly radio show, but we’re finally ready to serve the full meal again…with a little added seasoning. Previously, we would separate the playlists by genre, but to spice things up this time we’re providing everything in one convenient package. With 385 songs and a run-time of nearly 24 hours(!), you’re certain to find at least something you like in here.

What this all means is that we’re big fans of summer at The Music Ninja and we hope you are too. There’s certainly a warmth to the season that results in some great music, but what you may not realize is how many different forms that can take. Our playlist is designed to follow the motions of going through a summer day–from the moment you open your eyes to the instant your head rests back on your pillow–and the wide spectrum of moods and emotions that accompany that journey. We hope you enjoy the ride and discover something new along the way! Listen to the preview below and make sure to follow the playlist on either Spotify or Apple Music to get the full experience.

Deja Vu (Seelo Bootleg)

Edmonton based DJ/producer Seelo is back with a bootleg of Beyonce and Jay Z’s “Deja Vu.” Opting for a dark bassy vibe, Seelo cooked up a club ready remake. Coming off opening for Tchami in Calgary, Canada, and with big news to announce for his upcoming releases, Seelo’s bootleg is a freebie to all the fans while we wait for new original music.

Dark and deep is how Seelo likes his house music, reminiscent of Malaa, Tchami, and Oliver Heldens’ style. It’s in Alberta, West Canada, where he’s become a fixture in the underground electronic music scene, with releases on Canadian label AtomicSky Recordings, and support from Don Diablo and Judge Jules on his official remixes for Like Mike, and Adam K. You get a strong taste of his style here, which has us ready for more.

Sparrows (Bobby Nourmand Remix) (Radio Mix) [DITN]

Bobby Nourmand has been unveiling original after original for a while, but today we’ve got an official remix of his to share. “Sparrows” by New Mystics got a musical makeover by Bobby, who dropped this flip on his label, Deep In The Night.

Bobby’s own dark brand of deep house is evident throughout all his tracks, including this one, however he shifts things into a different gear. In keeping with his deep aesthetic Bobby plays off what we expect while also adding in the addition of new soundscapes. It makes for not only a great remix, but a fantastic piece of evidence as to just what Bobby can do. He’s got more tricks up his sleeve so stay tuned for more!

Keepin' It Cool (Tep No Edit)

Toronto’s Summer songster Tep No has dropped a slick edit of “Keepin’ It Cool” by Rebecca Perl. The future-tinged treat is a nice little jam to celebrate the Summer season.

Catchy is the first word that comes to mind with this melodic piece. It’s a fun record that does what it intended to do; namely, keep things cool. It may hot out for most of us, but you can certainly chill out to yet another Tep No treasure. The style fits incredibly alongside Rebecca’s alluring vocal.
