[Electronic] Kyle – iSpy feat. Lil Yachty (ojivolta Remix)

Kyle
iSpy ft. Lil Yachty (ojivolta Remix)

“iSpy” by Kyle and Lil Yachty has become quite the song to remix as of late. The latest to do it is the duo ojivolta, who are making waves with their quality remixes, which they create, then perform live. Today, we’ve got both projects for you to check out.

With the “iSpy” remix the boys deliver one of the most unique, if not the most unique, remixes of the track. Their signature style is something that is getting them noticed, but on top of that, they’ve got a cool live show going. You can get a glimpse of that in the video below, which shows ojivolta playing remixes of this song, as well as their remix for “Feel It Still” by Portugal. The Man.

Bakermat feat. Kiesza – Don’t Want You Back (Castelle Remix) [TMN Premiere]

To help end the week we have a very special premiere for you in the dojo. Castelle comes through with an official remix of “Don’t Want You Back” by Bakermat and Kiesza. Summer may only have less than a month left, but that doesn’t mean we have to start making the transition just yet.

Castelle gets down with a strong remix that is all fun, no filler. His minimal style let’s Kiesza’s vocal still shine, but his catchy melodies are the highlight of the incredible remix. It accompanies two other projects on the remix EP, but we’re going to go ahead and let you know this is our favorite of the bunch. If you would like to get a copy and check out the other tracks, check the digital store of your choice!

Off the heels of Outside Lands, an incredible set from Washed Out in Oakland and escalating social turmoil, I had a wide array of music to share on this week’s episode–from the left field hip-hop of ZGTO to Photay‘s infectious electronica to straight disco bliss from Folamour and Moon Boots. There’s a lot going on in the world right now and I hope this injection of diverse tunes helps you get through the week!

[Electro] GRiZ – My Friends & I Ft. ProbCause (Dusty Bits Remix)

My Friends & I Ft. ProbCause (Dusty Bits Remix)

Our favorite breakbeaters Dusty Bits just came through with something super hot, as usual. The special thing this time around is that they’ve released an official remix for the one and only GRiZ. The duo took on “My Friends & I” featuring ProbCause and flipped it into an electro beast.

Dusty Bits keeps things funky in their own unique way. “My Friends & I” in its new form has a bubbly, bouncy quality that just calls for one to dance. It’s nearly inescapable. Dusty Bits have put out incredible remixes before, but in being commissioned for something this big in official capacity, they didn’t waver in delivering something that stands above the rest of their own work, as well as much of the remix LP, which is saying a lot given the high quality remixes throughout the entire project. Have a listen today and get yourself a copy on digital platforms.

[Electronic] Madalen Duke – Gucci Store (Mickey Valen Remix)

Gucci Store (Mickey Valen Remix)

“Gucci Store” by Madalen Duke is a one-of-a-kind track. It would make sense that an equally as unique remix of it would come along. We have Mickey Valen to thank for that and whoever chose to commission him for an official flip.

Mickey Valen keeps a similar tone to his remix, but in turning up the hip-hop edge, we gave a hardened take on the song. It still has the poppy elements that the original does, paying homage to them in his own way, but in taking things a bit of a different direction he made it his own. This is essentially how to put together a perfect remix. We instantly recognize the song, but are positively taken back by its new form. Throw this one on repeat and thank us later.

[Hip-Hop] Azad – “Enough of You” (Karnaval Blues Remix)

Azad
Enough of You (Karnaval Blues Remix)

“Enough Of You” is Sango, Atu and Dpat all producing under the smooth flow of LA-based rapper, Azad. As if that couldn’t get any better, it was just flipped brilliantly by the indie producer Karnaval Blues. With names like this on the original saying the bar is set high would be an understatement. But with Karnaval Blues’ washed-out take on the production and mixing of Azad’s rap it surpasses expectation. Thanks to this epic flip, we’ve got a new up-and-comer we’ll be certainly keeping an eye on. Give it a listen above.

Mat Zo & Kill The Noise present Kill The Zo: Part I (Krayysh Remix)

If you’re not too careful with Krayysh‘s remix of “Kill The Zo: Part I” several things could happen. Your speakers could be blasted into oblivion, you’ll rage yourself into a psychotic episode, or both could take place. That’s just the tip of the iceberg of the dangers of this epic remix.

Released officially on MAD ZOO, this re-imagined take on the classic collab between Mat Zo and Kill The Noise is beyond phenomenal. From the start you know you’re getting something special and what comes is nothing short of extraordinary. Krayysh brought more than his A-game, delivering a remix that’s jam packed with top quality sound design and writing. If this is a taste of what’s to come from Krayysh, then bass producers are going to have to step their game up to keep in touch with this Toronto talent.
