L A Y L A
Weightless ( Dimond Saints ) Remix

For the first time in 4 months, Southern California has finally had enough of the 95 degree weather in the middle of October. As we soak in the lugubrious clouds that somberly sit above us, our ears are currently seeking for the proper beats to fulfill our thirst for more chilly vibes. After perusing the endless realm of Soundcloud, we just so happened to find our euphoria in the form of a stunning remix by Dimond Saints. They decided to take on the indie-pop tune, “Weightless” by L A Y L A, and turned it into a sexy, chilled out, bedroom bass marvel that will undoubtedly bring you peace of mind. Infusing it with heavy, sensual subs, subtle percussive elements, and a chilling melody, Dimond Saints give us something to close our eyes to and drift away. There’s no escaping these enchanting sound waves, so do yourself a favor and press play. You’ll thank us later.

Dimond Saints have made this track available for free download as apart of their newly released Hunters Moon EP, so grab it while it’s hot and check out their music while you’re at it.

Daddy’s Groove feat. Teammate – Pulse (Benny Benassi Remix) [TMN PREMIERE]

Daddy’s Groove Feat. Teammate
Pulse (Benny Benassi Remix)

After having premiered TeamMate’s song, ”Goldmine” in June, we knew it wouldn’t be the last we’d be hearing of them. Now just months later, we’re hearing those engaging vocals, only this time, set to some dance-inducing beats.

Teaming up (pun intended) with Italian trio Daddy’s Pulse, this collaboration recently resulted in an energetic progressive house tune, which released on Ultra Records back in September.

Any time you have incredible vocals on a dance tune, a remix package is soon to follow, and today we’re happy to bring you one of them. Taking on a tune from his countrymen, longtime dance legend Benny Benassi infuses his signature sound into “Pulse,” giving us a something that boasts the same melodic vibe from the original, yet brings in a tech-style house bassline and synth structure.

Benassi always brings up feelings of nostalgia with his tracks, calling back on the many shows we’ve seen of his throughout the years. If you’ve never personally witnessed what one of his sets entails, we highly encourage you to catch one. You won’t be disappointed.

[Trap] Calvin Harris – Blame (Pipe Down Chachi Remix)

Pipe Down Chachi
Blame (Pipe Down Chachi Remix)

2014 started with a wave of fresh Australian talent producing unique music powerful enough to carve out a signature style that formed a communal identity around the ‘Australian sound’. It wasn’t that long ago at all, but as the year progressed the trend continued to evolve as its popularity proliferated around the globe, and it almost fell victim to its own identity crisis as ‘future’ became the new buzzword to hit the net.

Despite how it sounds, this isn’t a post done in mourning at all, but quite the opposite. This is a declaration that the world-renowned ‘Australian sound’ has not faded away into the background just yet, because there are still plenty of artists out there to be discovered, and where better to find them than the musical hotbed of Sydney. Pipe Down Chachi may be a new name to us here at TMN, but this bright and colorful Calvin Harris remix is just the example we needed to showcase what the scene down-under still has left to offer. In this case, it’s heavy hitting trap kicks and an infectious synth-driven melody that’s bound to stick in your head for days. Soundcloud may have removed the initial upload of this track and taken the wind out of the momentum it was garnering online, but we’re here to return this one to its rightful status and once again give it the attention it deserves. Takes more than that to keep a good tune down!

[House] Mario Winans – I Don’t Wanna Know (Jerry Folk Remix)

I Don't Wanna Know
Jerry Folk Remix

Oh my oh my! Check out this brand new Mario Winans remix by Norway-born producer Jerry Folk. Artists always come up with ways to be innovative and creative when it comes to remixes, and Jerry Folk certainly did the original song justice by adding his own spice to it. It is truly amusing to see how he turns the R&B classic into this housey goodness. The tune starts off with a vocal sample together with a heavy groovin’ synth melody that immediately catches your attention. Following an anticipated buildup, the beat drop steals the spotlight with this future house and disco fusion. The funky bass line to the drop is also a notable and deserves its own shoutout. There is no doubt it is an exceptional remix by an exceptional producer.

Signed under Next Wave Records, Jerry Folk is definitely an exciting artist to watch and making a name for himself as one of the front runners of the label. We can’t wait to see what he has to offer in the future. Make sure to download this awesome remix on his Facebook page here!

Indian Summer
Shiner ft. Ginger & The Ghost (option4 Remix)

After storming our pages last week with an utterly groovy remix of Sammy Bananas’ “Money Time” on Fool’s Gold Records, the underground street king of Denver Dance, option4, is back on yet another international tastemaking label, Australian based Sweat It Out, with a deep and glossy remix of Indian Summer’s “Shiner”. option4 rolls the cadence up a bit to suit what has quickly become a stellar signature blend of soul-fueled house and indie-dance while also slathering on a generous helping of punchy kicks and a swinging bassline to the original. With option4 creating such textured and danceable soundscapes with the refined ease and regularity of a twenty-year veteran while simultaneously dragging his fans into deeper waters; it’s no wonder why his layered remixes have been cropping up on some of dance music’s hottest imprints. We’ve been more than tickled with one of our favorite underground dance curators’ more emotive output as of late, and his “Shiner” remix is no different.
