[Indie Dance] Urban Cone ft. Tove Lo – Come Back To Me (Vicetone Remix)

Urban Cone ft. Tove Lo
Come Back To Me (Vicetone Remix)

Astralwerks will be releasing the Vicetone remix of “Come Back To Me” on May 19th. Instead of leaving us to wait, the full track was uploaded to the Dutch duo’s Soundcloud. These two take a turn from their usual sound, which has landed them an Ultra festival anthem and a #1 on Beatport with their track “No Way Out.”

Vicetone take on the Urban Cone, Tove Lo collaboration with a gripping indie dance interpretation. Frankly, it sounds like it should be on the radio, and that isn’t a bad thing at all. So far, the response has been stellar with fans and we ninjas have only good things to say about what Vicetone did to “Come Back To Me.” Make sure to be there on the 19th when this drops, and if you would like to purchase the original, you can do so here.

[House] Whitney Houston – I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Halogen Remix)

Whitney Houston
I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Halogen Remix)

Look. We’d be lying if we said we hadn’t watched The Bodyguard a few times in our pre-pubescent years, secretly crushing on Whitney Houston. While we secretly loved the film, we couldn’t stand hearing our parents blast “I Will Always Love You” on early Sunday mornings. This was mainly due to the strong indication that it was time for chores, but we’ll be god damned if it didn’t still bring up those warm n’ fuzzies for Whitney.

That being said, we’ll always have a soft spot for the rest of her music. Even beyond our that early boyhood, googly-eyed curiosity, Whitney was a legend, and she has the catalog to back it. And, with a voice like that, it’s an absolute pleasure to see producers bringing her voice into 2015.

At this point, you probably aren’t surprised that we’re posting Halogen again. We love these guys and there’s not much that’s going to change that. This remix certainly continues our adoration, as we’re offered up a tasty house interpretation of “I Wanna Dance With Somebody.” It’s bouncy, dancy, will most assuredly get ladies on the dancefloor, which means the fellas will follow.

Before you press play though, you need to ask yourself – are you ready to come correct with some sweet dance moves?

Push It (Didrick Remix)

Please get out a pencil and paper, or open a google drive document, or get your memory storage processes on point, because you need to keep the name Didrick around. Some may recognize him from his engagements with Monstercat and Mr. Suicide Sheep, but chances are that this talent has remained a shadowy gem despite pulling incredible plays.

Today, we get to support the producer’s new remix of “Push It,” originally by iSHi and Pusha T, that he released for free, no strings attached. Didrick took a future route with his upbeat rework of the 4/20 release. His progressive style he usually runs with translates well over to this downtempo vibe haven. He created three minutes and fifteen seconds of quite compelling music that is definitely going to be on some of the ninja’s summer playlists. Don’t be surprised if it ends up on yours either.

Fantasy (Pomo Remix)

Alina Baraz & Galimatias‘s “Fantasy” was easily one of the most uniquely beautiful tracks released last year combining ethereal vocals with forward-thinking, nuanced electronic production. It’s so good, in fact, that it toes the line of untouchable as far as remixes go. If there’s anyone fit or the job, though it’s Canadian producer Pomo, who’s 2014 The Other Day was a groovy, synth-laden sonic journey. His rendition of “Fantasy” plays out exactly as we would’ve hoped, keeping the original’s winning elements in tact with a healthy injection of Pomo’s signature bounce. The result perfectly utilizes Baraz’s irresistible voice transforming it into a spring anthem without losing its chilled-out vibe. If you haven’t  already, make sure to check out the rest of Alina Baraz & Galimatias’s collaborative work on Soundcloud. You can also pre-order their upcoming Urban Flora EP here.

Time (LYNOS x SHUGG remix)

This track is the perfect example of bringing creative minds together. LA-based producer LYNOS teamed up with singer/saxophonist SHUGG to rework Destiny‘s “Time”. Fusing R&B and progressive elements, the musicians came together and created something very unique off of Destiny’s magical vocals. Besides the epic synth driving the tune, SHUGG’s saxophone LYNOS’ electric guitar fill in with the heavy sounding melodies. Although the track is barely three minutes long, the catchiness and complexity of it are nothing short of amazing.

LYNOS is going to keep the ball rolling with this release, following his last remix of Phoebe Ryan’s “Mine”. He’s definitely someone to watch in the near future.

Gold Dust (CRNKN & Hotel Garuda Remix)

There’s no question that Galantis‘ “Gold Dust” has won the hearts of many during the short period of its release. The melodic elements of the tune have given us feels from the beginning. This official remix by Hotel Garuda and CRNKN took on a different path and should help further skyrocket their fan base.

The emerging all-star combination of Hotel Garuda and CRNKN fuse their defining sounds together to create a potential club anthem. A fast house beat followed by pitched down vocals start off the tune. The progressive approach is kept and made for a great buildup for the future bass drop. Credits to them for keeping it original and not caving to specific genres. This track can be found on the official remix EP for “Gold Dust,” which is available on iTunes now.
