We absolutely love it when people pay tribute to classics of the past, and even more so when they do it well. Enter Atlanta folk outfit Seven Handle Circus, a bluegrass influenced six piece with an affinity for 80’s music.

Recently traveling to New Orleans to play a packed show at Tipitina’s, the group circled up to do an impromptu recording of the 1984 synthpop hit, “Take On Me.” The end result was something uncontrollably smile-inducing, rife with nostalgic undertones. When asked about this song in particular, vocalist Shua Spencer stated:

We like to play cover songs that need a revival. ‘Take On Me’ is a song that so many people love, yet need a little bit more of in their life.

Our suggestion? Catch one of these next few shows the guys have. Even if they don’t cover this live, we’re pretty sure it’s going to be a fantastic show.
