Chan Marshall, AKA Cat Power, is finally making her return to the current scene with her latest single ‘Ruin’. Featuring a surprisingly upbeat vocal from Marshall and some Latin-inspired piano, ‘Ruin’ is sharp and strong pop from a woman whose musical verve and talent have been much missed since her covers record (‘Jukebox’) back in 2008. Her forthcoming record, ‘Sun’, which featured ‘Ruin’, is inspired by her breakup with actor Giovanni Ribisi, and is definitely on our ‘albums we can’t wait for’ list.
