It is always a beautiful thing when EDM producers take influences from indie/rock bands but to go one step further into acoustic and folk can be extremely difficult to pull off. It is not about having a good bassline over the vocals, but the track has to lay carefully over the curves of the original, matching the emotion and dynamics without overpowering it with electronic synths. Goodwill & Hook N Sling have not only taken the gorgeous classic “Big Jet Plane” by rother-sister duo Angus And Julia Stone but elevated it into a much club friendly mix. Is it better than the original? Of course not, but it provides a great alternative to end the night with the soothing whispers of Angus. Enjoy
