Benjamin Francis Leftwich has been a long-time favourite of ours, and with ‘Atlas Hands’, we predict he’ll become one to many. Originally part of Leftwich’s first release, the ‘Million Miles Out’ EP, he’s now putting it out on the forthcoming ‘Atlas Hands’ EP. The track itself is a delicate and incredibly simple guitar-and-voice set-up, allowing the tender lyrics to shine through. The female backing vocals are a great addition, contrasting with Leftwich’s slightly husky tones to excellent effect. Also featured on the ‘Atlas Hands’ EP will be the Mike Skinner remix of the title track. Skinner’s emphasis on slow-burning beats makes this an even more relaxed version of ‘Atlas Hands’, and is a great accompaniment to the original. The ‘Atlas Hands’ EP will be dropped September 4.
