It’s no doubt one of Australia’s most sought after musical exports is enigmatic masked dance slinger Golden Features; and if you’ve read our pages regularly you know that’s quite the statement what with our fiery love for our friends Down Under. After finally unveiling the full extent of an upcoming Australian tour featuring San Francisco’s The M Machine, Golden Features simultaneously passed down the first taste of an upcoming EP, XXIV, in the form of a dark and gritty future-house stomper, “Baxter”. “Baxter” is paced with a set of murky, sweeping pads and a rolling kick-drum filter before unloading a rhythmic dancefloor assault of melting synths, punchy drums, chopped and pitched vocals and minimal percussion. With tunes like this coming out of the Golden Features camp, it’s next to impossible to contain our collective enthusiasm for the Sydney based artist to gift us with his latest body of work.
