Kid Moxie
Museum Motel (with The Gaslamp Killer) - Serafim Tsotsonis Remix

As if hand-delivered on a silver platter by the gods of music nerdery themselves, we have a synergistic soundscape that boasts nuances of three very different artists, all of which are of the headier variety. Needless to say, we’re stoked about it.

Kid Moxie, the multi-faceted Los Angeles-based artist, is unpredictable, to say the least. Sometimes poppy, sometimes orchestral, she keeps us guessing with childlike glee. The Gaslamp Killer is in the mix, who’s alt-hip hop has speaks for itself, what with all the expertly crafted samples and ingenious hip hop beats. Today we’re pleased to announce the third leg to this brainy collaboration, bringing you an intriguing remix from Greek producer Serafim Tsotsonis.

This accomplished musician has composed music for films, plays, documentaries, and video art in addition to remixing songs for numerous artists. Garnering adoration through the use of sonic experimentation and elaborate live performances, this impressive individual is coming to the blogosphere with an interesting take on “Museum Motel.”

In a way, he’s effectively brought it into the Gaslamp Killer’s realm, crafting a relaxed and cinematic soundscape that can be looked at in three parts. Before 3:25, the song builds dramatically through the use of sampled strings from the original, light spattering percussion, and layers upon layers of melodic piano work, synths, whistling, and vocal hauntings. After 3:25, we’re led through a dark and ominous breakdown, complete with an intensified industrial style drums and crunchy synths. When we pass the 4:15 mark, the song comes back full circle to the what we fell in love with in the beginning.

Gushing aside, Tsotsonis has found a new group of fans here at TMN. If you’re digging what he’s crafting, make sure to head to his website to pick up his recently released third album, Beautiful People.
