While many fans believe Drake‘s style has gotten a bit stale over time, he’s shown a willingness to experiment recently as he prepares for the release of Nothing Was The Same. “Hold On, We’re Going Home” features Drake going in to full R&B mode, but rather than droning on about his ex-girls for the millionth time, Drizzy opts for a much more upbeat, 80’s influenced pop melody. The throwback tune provides us with a refreshing change of pace from Drake’s typical material without sounding too out of place in his vast library. “Hold On, We’re Going Home” represents the perfect way to wrap up a late night out on the town, and adds yet another anthem to the Toronto native’s repertoire.
