It’s been far too long since Belgium’s live electro rock outfit Soulwax has laid their remixing chops upon some worthy material, but they truly outdid themselves this time with a remix of “Sprawl II” by Canadian folk rockers The Arcade Fire. The pulsing disco rhythms cruise along at a leisurely 105 BPM while lead vocalist Régine Chassagne soars high above and melodic arpeggios tie the mix together. If that wasn’t enough there is even a cowbell heavy hand clapping breakdown! Soulwax has earned their place in the upper echelon of live electronic acts with their unique sound and remixes like this one only solidify their reputation as some of the best in the business.
