[Music Video] Isaiah Brown – Please Be The One

Back in November of 2022 Isaiah Brown released his debut album DREAMERBOY to a fantastic response by his fans and media alike. Continuing on that journey, Isaiah has expanded the music with video counterparts, most recently for the song “Please Be The One.”

The hip-hop meets R&B track was a standout on the LP, one that fans surely will be singing loud during Isaiah’s upcoming GENESIS tour. It’s one of our favorites from his album and the music video does it justice with its minimalist tone. It’s a fun visual with a laidback style that fits the vibe of the song. It’s not quite hot enough for the beach in most places, but let Isaiah take you there with this project!

When we open our hearts up to the fullest capacity of the world and people around us, we discover the depths of our own existence and the power of positivity. Let us embrace one another as one collective consciousness, all striving towards a better tomorrow, for our children and our children’s children. One Earth and One Love under the power of God, The Universe, and Our Creator/Mother Nature.” – Isaiah Brown

[House] Rich Furniss & Morsy – Desire (feat. Andrew Charles)

Brooklyn’s Rich Furniss is back with friends Morsy and Andrew Charles for the house original “Desire.” Released on Quincy Boy Records, “Desire” is a song that feels like it could have been released at any time during house’s lifespan and still be a hit.

Inspired by classic sounds and 80’s undertones, the record’s tasteful production balances each collaborator’s own style without trying to overdo it. Sometimes a collaboration can feel like its trying to be more than the sum of its parts, but with “Desire” these three manage to achieve that through letting it happen. Of course, we can’t say how it actually came together – but “Desire” is one of those songs that feels just right, and that it was created with a certain flow that all involved tapped into organically.

The energy between Morsy, Buck and I was just natural when making “Desire,” I feel like a balance of all of us are in here. Since starting Rich Furniss in Sept. of 2021, I wouldn’t have envisioned things coming so far so quick or to have the support from bigger artists I love on my music. I am pumped about the future!” – Rich

[Techno] Dea Magna & Eric Sharp – Red Room

LA songstress Dea Magna has joined Eric Sharp for the alluring original “Red Room.” Released on Sirup Music, this techy treat is injects a tasteful energetic boost that engulfs the listeners with its larger than life atmosphere.

“Red Room” is one of those adventurous creations that truly builds from start to finish, taking the listener on a journey instead of the simple copy paste format of many “EDM” songs. Themes and phrases find themselves throughout, but Dea and Eric offer the listener a fun listen from beginning to end.

‘Red Room’ was inspired by dance music culture. We wanted to make a song that evokes the positive and uplifting emotions, that celebrates love and freedom from the mind. ‘Red Room’ is a place full of strobe lights and laser beams, where bass pulses through your body, and you can’t help but dance. Where the feelings that consume you are feelings of peace and happiness. It also in a way honors the return of such spaces into our lives after we lost them for a while.” – Dea Magna

[Electronic] matphilly & SUBshockers – AMP EP

Projects that are homages to loved ones lost always hit home harder. With matphilly‘s collaboration EP AMP, created alongside SUBshockers, that claim holds true. What began as one song to honor his brother who passed away suddenly in July of 2020, this matphilly EP grew into a five track seasonal release that culminated into the EP.

AMP starts with a cinematic introduction that sets the emotional tone for what’s to come. “All I’m Missing In This…it Makes Me Numb” follows suit, journeying from a heartfelt piano composition into a cathartic explosion of bass. From there matphilly and SUBshockers take you on a sonic adventure through different sounds, styles and emotions that showcase just how much matphilly’s brother meant to them, as he was also a great friend to SUBshockers. Overall, it’s a great project that does justice to its aim.

My brother was an important part of my life and losing him out of nowhere really changed the course of my life and mental health. So much so that I was going to quit music but I know he would want me to keep going, so to pay tribute to him, I chose my closest friends in SUBshockers. He knew my brother as well and we channeled our energy to pay tribute to his life and legacy. This is something I want the world to see who never met my brother and how important he was to so many people. He’s missed dearly and I hope we did him justice in this project.” – matphilly

Having worked with Rezz, Slander, RL Grime and many more, dance fans already know her chops when it comes to creating, but now we get the full breadth of her talents and artistic direction thanks to a beautiful 9-track project.

Taste.test invites the listener into a world of chill soundscapes blending indie, pop, R&B and more for an experience anybody can sink their existence into. There’s a common message throughout tying the song’s together through a cohesive thread that showcases just what this project means to fknsyd as she heroically embarks on her solo journey. It’s a well crafted, strong first step and we hope to hear more from her!

Taste.test is a compilation of songs I made over the last year or two. With my personal music I do everything myself, and I don’t feel overly confident about most of the skills involved in that process. As much as I’d like to only share things I feel completely satisfied with, I don’t think it needs to be that serious, and I realize whatever that standard is for me will be ever-changing. It doesn’t make me happy to stockpile a bunch of music. I admire people who share their art, so to me this is a step in the direction of feeling more comfortable doing that.” – fknsyd
