Get A Behind The Scenes Look Into What Makes No Way Back [TMN Interview]

After the release of “Minute” on Enhanced Music, we wanted to get together with its creator, No Way Back, to see just what makes the Los Angeles producer tick. We’re loving the soothing vibes of his work and had to get a behind the scenes look at where he has come from.

No Way Back is one producer you need to know if you don’t already. Anthony Pisano is doing things right bringing great music to the table with a signature style that will identify him for years to come if he keeps up with it. AFter only being on the scene for around a year, he’s managed to make a lot of headway, so we wanted to give you a look behind the project with the current interview. While you read through our concise Q&A, listen to his the collaboration with Sophia Black on “Minute.”

TMN: We love your mix of 90’s influenced R&B and house! How did your sound come about?

NWB: I grew up listening to R&B, soul, and hip-hop in the 90’s. When I first discovered Daft Punk it all came together for me. I realized that blending feel good R&B/soul elements with dance music was my sound.

TMN: What are some R&B acts that have influenced your sound?

NWB: The Weeknd, TLC, Aaliyah, Cashmere Cat, Kaytranada, and Miguel are a few that influence my sound.

TMN: When you’re not producing or touring, what are you up to?

I like to work out, go on hikes and do yoga when I’m not in the studio. I’m definitely a foodie so I love trying out different restaurants. I live in Los Angeles so there’s always so many good spots to try out.

TMN: Any new releases coming up you’d like to tell us about?

NWB: I just released my new single called “Minute” featuring Sophia Black a few weeks ago. I have a lot of music finished and ready to go so it’s about figuring out the next release date. If I had to guess I would say probably April or May. The plan is to put out another single followed by an EP so I’m currently working on that right now.

TMN: Any acts you’re excited to check out during Miami Music Week?

NWB: MMW is always an inspiring week for me. I always go back to the studio after that week with so many new ideas. I’m definitely excited to see Magician. I haven’t seen many line ups yet but I get inspiration from so many different genres and artists right now I’m just excited for the whole week.

Kill Paris takes a bit of a different direction with his new single “Good Love.” Released on Sexy Electric, this free download still has a hint of the future sound, but blends the line between it and trap. It’s an interesting route that we didn’t expect when we heard the producer was coming out with a new one.

“Good Love” won’t disappoint. Despite the sound not being what we may be used to, Kill Paris still managed to put together a great song. Good vibes ooze from this soft-hearted single whose minimal sound makes for an easy listen. It’s a versatile track that can be enjoyed in several circumstances, so don’t be surprised when you come back to it over and over. Kill Paris is looking to have a big year in 2017 and he’s off to a good start.

[Music Video] Avery Shyra – Say Hello

Denver emcee Avery Shyra just came out with a new single called “Say Hello” that is partnered by a music video. Instead of filming in the vast landscape around his hometown, he flew out to LA to capture the bright sunshine on the beautiful coastline.

“Say Hello” is a radio-friendly hip-hop jam that fits right in line with one of the few directions that rap is going. Despite that, Avery keeps things fresh with his own spin on things. For the music video, it’s incredibly well done on the beaches of Southern California, showcasing the life behind the lyrics. It’s quite minimal, but you don’t need much if you know how to put together a great video, which is just what we have on our hands. Check the music video out below while you ache for the coming Summer months!

[Trap] Dillon Francis – Candy Feat. Snappy Jit (Candyland Remix)

It makes 100% sense that Candyland would take a stab at remixing “Candy” by Dillon Francis and Snappy Jit. It would also make 100% sense that she killed it, which she did. Not only that, but she decided to deliver it to the internet as a free download. There’s no excuse to not grab this one.

“Candy” in its new form is a twerk-friendly bass track that is sure to get the party started, or if the party is already going, then it’s going next level when this drops. Things get groovy in a hurry with Candyland’s adaptation whose bubbling basslines are meant to get those booties shaking. It’s always nice to hear a great track get a solid remix, which should come as no surprise given the remixer. Stream “Candy” today and don’t forget to download for a whopping cost of $0.

So far 2017 has shown us that a producer’s main goal is to toy with our emotions. We’ve seen vocalists incorporate lyrics that give us something to relate to and the melodies that accompany these lyrics are capable of inducing the same emotions regardless if the lyrics are there or not. BLVK SHEEP’s last release from his Mind EP, “Run” incorporates a vibrant and raw combination of vocals from Tima Dee and a surprising and very welcome riff of guitar chords from Giant Spirit, combining multiple sounds that leave us wanting more from this budding producer. The energy in this hybrid trap track is potent throughout, yet still leaves room for the emotionally laden lyrics from Tima. We’re giving Anevo’s latest release, “Waiting On Your Call,” on Monstercat a 10/10. Anevo’s melody paired with Park Avenue’s emotional vocals have created a whirlwind of feelings poised to make it to top radio charts. The track masterfully brings the listener into a trance of past memories and romantic relationships but Anevo does a great job of excluding a depressing vibe and keeping the track light even though the lyrics are ridden with emotional pain.

One of our favorite Potion label artists, The Aston Shuffle, is back again with a new original that will get your feet moving and your body grooving.
