option4 – The Melancholy Tribute Of Bodhi Paige [TMN PREMIERE]

The Melancholy Tribute Of Bodhi Paige

There’s nothing quite like finding a choice offering of beats to kick off your weekend with, especially when they happen to be brand spankin’ new. Today, we have just that for you, giving you a proper nudge into a few sweet days of unadulterated bliss with this tasty new tune.

If you’ve been following us for some time, you should be familiar with Denver-based option4. From our Artist Residency to a few premieres here and there, we’ve been longtime fans of this highly infectious artist and his dirty, clubby, and inventive house beats.

“The Melancholy Tribute of Bodhi Page” is a dusty, organic, fresh from the farmer’s market offering. Seriously, you might find yourself drawn to a flannel shirt and some locally sourced kale after a trip through this one. The crackling atmospheric elements perfectly mimic the experience of listening to your favorite vinyl record, which gives this track a warm and familiar feel. The kicks are clean and pronounced, as we’ve come to expect from option4 through the years, pairing perfectly with hi-hat rattles and a big, soulful vocal sample.

Wherever your weekend takes you, even if it actually is a farmer’s market, make sure you have “The Melancholy Tribute of Bodhi Page” on hand and ready to jam.

Darku J x Styles&Complete feat. SISTERWIFE – Kick In The Bass [TMN Premiere]

We love a good music video. We love a great one even more and that’s what we have for you today in this Music Ninja Premiere. The song + video comes to us from a threeway collaboration between New York’s Darku J, the LA duo Styles&Complete, as well as the newcomer vocalist SISTERWIFE.

Their song “Kick In The Bass” is something to be cherished by bassheads everywhere. It’s not your typical track as it melds electro with breakbeat, a trend that has been steadily gaining pace within the last several months. Together, Darku J and Styles&Complete put together one of the more memorable songs within this style, and SISTERWIFE is a big part of that. Her vocal performance is magnificent; you’ll be singing the lyrics in no time. With the music video, we get something that is just as unique and fun. We won’t dive into the exact details. You’ll have to just watch and enjoy.

[Electronic] BASECAMP – In Stone (VALENTINE Remix)

BASECAMP
In Stone (VALENTINE Remix)

It’s not February yet, but VALENTINE is what we have on our minds. Apparently, the same thing could be said for OWLSA, who backed the mysterious producer for an official remix of “In Stone” by BASECAMP.

One of the things we love about this one is it doesn’t exactly fit nicely into a specific genre. It’s sort of a few different things, but doesn’t really fit snug anywhere. Everything from the sound design to the song’s composition is done at an expert level. VALENTINE’s remix stylistically isn’t straightforward, but also the songwriting isn’t either, as the track develops from beginning to end without any moment of stale sound. It’s fresh, clean, and totally awesome. If you’re not familiar with VALENTINE, better get started now.

Break (feat. Denitia)

Ready to melt? “Break” is the type of track that’s going to do that to you. North Elements and Wayfarer// teamed up alongside vocalist Denitia for a hot R&B meets electronic single that we can’t get out of our heads. “Embrace damage. Your impermanence, and imperfections make you a work of art,” is what came with the song, so you can see just the type of artsy style you’re about to get into.

Not only is this song completely entertaining, but it is engaging with some great lyrical content performed exceptionally well by Denitia. Soulful, ethereal, smooth, “Break” is everything you think it wouldn’t be knowing the song title. It will surprise you; give it a full listen and tell us otherwise. You’ll reach a point where the song could end, but then it continues with even greater force than before. All acts involved did a wonderful job cooking this one up in the studio. Grab “Break” for free today!
