Sometimes simpler is better, which is actually the case here. Portugal’s M.A.U. trims some of the fat off Passion Pit‘s original “Carried Away,” in turn allowing it breathing room in all the right places. With a handful of its happy-go-lucky bounce stripped away, the remix stands strong on its own as a slower moving, almost electro-pop ballad, able to be more poignant and powerful in its relaxed pace. The rework shows a different side of the synth-pop group, especially around the 2-minute mark, when the somber choir-like vocals are left to be front and center. Free download below!
