[Summer Indie] Metronomy – English Riviera

 [Summer Indie] Metronomy English Riviera

in April, Metronomy released latest EP ‘English Riviera’  has been on my repeat list for the past 2 weeks and quite simply, it’s brilliant. Metronomy have captured the summer English sound and bundled into a album that front man and the man behind Metronomy Joseph Mount claimed is “a soundtrack to a bad weekend”.

From start to finish you get a real sense of optimism and for me the sound is exactly where I wanted them to go after hearing their 2006 album ‘Pip Paine (Pay the £5000 You Owe)’. Critically acclaimed by NME who gave this album a 9/10, it really is a must listen to twice album! My favourite 2 tracks are below and they’re both cheeky, humble, sexy, profound and light all in one.
