[Hip-Hop] J. Cole – Truly Yours 2 EP

After dropping off  “Cole Summer” last night, J. Cole serves up another treat with the sequel to February’s Truly Yours EP. Like the previous installment, the six-track EP is composed of previously unreleased material and songs that were left on the cutting room floor. With features and production from 2 Chainz, Young Jeezy, Bas, Jake One, and Canei Finch, this iteration is even better than the last. If this is the material that didn’t make the album, you have to wonder what Cole has in store for us when Born Sinner comes out on June 25th. Grab the free download here.

[Hip-Hop] Travi$ Scott – Upper Echelon (ft T.I. & 2 Chainz)

From making the XXL freshman list to performing at Coachella, young emcee Travi$ Scott has been having a great year. Staying on his grind, he drops the official release for the banger “Upper Echelon”. This single finds the Houston rapper at home as he brings an auto-tuned assisted rhyme over the tough beat. Bringing along ATLien T.I. for a fast-paced verse and 2 Chainz to close out the track, this single is definitely a banger. Take a listen to fresh track and be sure to download his upcoming Owl Pharaoh effort.

[Remix] Bingo Players & 2 Chainz – Rattle (Sexy Lady)

Bingo Players & 2 Chainz
Rattle (Sexy Lady)

2 Chainz is determined to find a way into your headphones this week. After hopping onto one remix with Fall Out Boy‘s “My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark,” he’s decided to put his own twist on the Bingo Players‘ hit, “Rattle.” It’s hard to listen to this one without a smile on your face, because while it does have its moments, it definitely seems more comical in nature. With 2 Chainz presence on the track though, it’s certainly the perfect party starter. 2 CHAAAAAAINNNNZZ!

My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark (Light Em Up) [2 Chainz Remix]

After starring in the original music video, and then teasing us with a performance during NBA All-Star Weekend, 2 Chainz and Fall Out Boy have finally agreed to unveil the remix to their comeback single. With the song’s new trapped-out vibe, Mr. Double Chainz feels right at home, as he closes things out with a nice little verse full of quotables near the end of the song. If you weren’t pumped up before, the remix will definitely get your blood rushing. Fall Out Boy’s fifth studio album, Save Rock and Roll will be out on April 15th, but pre-orders are available now through iTunes.

[NEW] PSY – Gangnam Style (Diplo Remix) (Feat. 2 Chainz & Tyga)

If you thought the “Gangnam Style” craze was over, you’re sadly mistaken. Arguably the hottest song over the last year, now has one of the oddest remixes of the year. With Diplo at the helm, the K-Pop hit gets a whole new dimension of springiness behind it as it’s transformed into a certified trap anthem. What really helps get the song popping are the verses from 2 Chainz and Tyga (I guess Lil Wayne and Drake weren’t available). They aren’t going to impress you with their lyrics, but they’ll definitely get your head bopping, which is all that really matters here. The main thing I really want to see out of all of this though, is a brand new music video featuring 2 Chainz trying to do the dance. That would be awesome. For those wondering, this is an official remix, and it will be on PSY‘s Gangnam Style (강남스타일) [Remix Style] – EP, out today on iTunes. Also included below is the full version of Afrojack‘s remix of the track, which is also on the EP.

[NEW] Fall Out Boy – My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark (Light Em Up)

2013 is shaping up to be the year of comebacks. With Destiny’s Child reuniting at the Super Bowl, and Justin Timberlake debuting some new songs live in New Orleans, 2013 is beginning to look more like 2003. In their roaring return, Fall Out Boy display that they’ve certainly matured during the years apart as they piece together an epic, riveting new single. It’s a definite shift in sound for Pete Wentz and crew. They represent that change in the accompanying visuals, where guest star 2 Chainz and a few friends symbolically burn down the group’s instruments and records. While some fans may miss the familiar sound of the past, this seems like a step in the right direction for the band. Fall Out Boy look poised to Save Rock and Roll, but we’ll have to wait until May 6th to find out if they succeed.

[Chill] Chrisette Michelle – Charades ft 2 Chainz

Chrisette Michelle has coined the title of this modern-day pre- and post-break-up songstress in the game. From her debut smash hit “Be Ok” to her equally successful single “Epiphany(I’m Leaving)” ft Drake, her repertoire of hits is very reminiscent of 90’s Mary J.Blige R&B with a more classic jazz/hip-hop sound. With her latest single “Charades”, she croons about the hesistation to get to know someone on a romantic level after being burned in the past. The Wizzy Wow produced track gives off a mellow vibe with some synth beats and soft, vulnerable vocals from the songstress. Unexpectedly, 2 Chainz joins the singer as the dude whose intentions are in question. The single can be heard on Michelle’s latest free mixtape An Audiovisual Presentation of Audrey Hepburn, available here.
