[Electronic] ACCIO – I Believe In Us

Independent artist ACCIO, formerly known as Chris Costello, unveiled his latest single I Believe In Us on June 20, marking an important milestone in his evolving musical journey.

The track is a richly textured progressive house composition that marries melodic clarity with emotional depth. Opening with cinematic stillness, it gradually builds into a heartfelt crescendo, with ethereal vocals weaving through ambient synths and expressive leads. Each element is carefully crafted to create an immersive and reflective listening experience.

ACCIO’s background as a classically trained pianist and a graduate of Icon Collective in Los Angeles informs his distinctive sound—a seamless blend of classic progressive house and contemporary, imaginative influences. His earlier releases, including “Set Me Free” and “Like a Ghost,” paved the way for this confident new chapter.

The name ACCIO, inspired by a summoning spell from the wizarding world, aptly reflects the artist’s intention to draw listeners into a captivating sonic realm. With I Believe In Us, ACCIO invites his audience to experience music as both a personal narrative and a universal connection.

Having amassed over 200,000 career streams and Spotify successes such as “Let’s Get Lost Tonight” and “In The Moment,” ACCIO continues his journey to make his own unique lane of sounds.

[Progressive] ACCIO – Like A Ghost

“Like A Ghost” introduces a subdued piano motif before unfolding into a low-key blend of soft synth layers, quiet percussion, and lightly processed vocals. It avoids any major shift or drop, focusing instead on maintaining a steady dynamic throughout. The track is measured and calm, shaped for both low-volume listening and late-night set placements.

ACCIO is the latest identity of producer Chris Costello, who shifted direction in 2024 after previously working under his own name. The new project prioritizes structure, space, and detail. Drawing on his classical training and education at Icon Collective, ACCIO emphasizes slow development and subtle arrangement.

With more than 200,000 total streams and prior features on STMPD RCRDS Radio and Hexagon Radio, ACCIO has gained recognition for consistency and focus toward developing his own sound. Tracks like “Don’t Wake Me Up” and “I’ll Guide You” established the tone early. “Like A Ghost” continues in that style.

Interview

“I Wanna Be Around” has this great mix of pop and progressive house vibes. What made you want to bring back the feel of 2010s progressive house but give it a fresh spin?
I just love that era of music. I listen to those kinds of songs daily, and I hope I can make people fall in love with the music I’m creating.

The song touches on the ups and downs of relationships in a really honest way. Was there a specific moment or experience that inspired the lyrics?
Ever since I moved to LA seven years ago, I’ve always had trouble finding someone who was consistent. It wasn’t until I met my girlfriend that I started to believe in love again.

Your sound is so immersive, with lush synths and big vocals. How do you go about building such a rich, layered vibe in your tracks?
I start by finding a song I like for inspiration, then work on creating cool melodies that capture those big progressive house vibes.

You started Accio just last year. How does this track show where you’re headed as an artist?
I feel like Cult Creatives has really helped me develop my brand and tell a more cohesive story with my music.

You’ve got this solid foundation in classical piano and went to Icon Collective for production. How does all that training and experience shape the way you make music?
I think my classical training and my studies at Icon helped me craft catchy melodies and a strong foundation for my songs.

Your music brings out emotions and memories. Do you consider yourself a nostalgic person?
I definitely consider myself nostalgic. I love looking back on memories and strive to create music that feels timeless.

With your EP coming soon, how does “I Wanna Be Around” set the tone for what fans can expect next?
My fans can expect more big progressive house tracks. I have a lineup of songs releasing through July, and I’m still working to add more through the end of the year. This year, I want to be more consistent with putting out music.
