Chances are high that you’ll be playing Alexander Lewis‘ new single “Clockwise” around the clock. In collaboration with Nick Row this trap/hip-hop hit has everything going for it from top to bottom.

Even if you’re exclusively a hip-hop or dance music fan, you’re going to like this one. It’s a musical black hole that sucks you in no matter what you do. From start to finish its heat, heat and more heat. It never lets up with its power, engaging your ears like few tracks can do. Alexander Lewis enlisted Nick Row to bring his bars to the mix which did not disappoint. Together they made “Clockwise” one of our favorite tracks of 2018 so far.

Alexander Lewis always delivers. His consistency has yet to falter, and that comes as no surprise considering the amount of talent he surrounds himself with in Candid Music Group. On “Afternoon,” he decided to throw it back to his old style with a sampling of “Side 2 Side” by Brasstracks. With this switch-up, he formulated a precise balance of a lively melody coupled with a lavish wave of serene synths that seamlessly weave together into a wonderful surprise of a one-off tune.

This effort certainly departs from the heavier material that Alexander Lewis normally puts together, but little change-ups like this are always good for exploring something new and expanding horizons. In the process, many manage to revisit old influences that are revamped into something great, and that’s exactly the case that we’re witnessing here with “Afternoon.” Alexander Lewis has proven himself time and time again, and this fresh tune gives him a chance to kick up his feet and relax right along with us as we enjoy his most recent production.
