[Indie] argonaut&wasp – Prove It To You / Body Sensations

Our Brooklyn buddies argonaut&wasp have come through with two groovy jams released on Bang! Jango Records. Their double single project is a one-two punch of funky heat straight from New York.

“Prove It To You” starts things off with the band’s usual dance-pop style that has captivated audiences around the world. It’s light, fun and so incredibly easy to dance to with its vibrant energy. Secondly we get “Body Sensations” which delivers on its name. “Body Sensations” slows things down, but keeps up the groove all the same. Together these songs make for one of our favorite argonaut&wasp projects. Sit back and let these guys take control of your day, you won’t regret it.

[Indie Dance] Blair – Planetary feat. argonaut&wasp

Planetary (feat. argonaut&wasp)

Ready for a funky, cosmic jam? “Planetary” is what we have to share. This amazing single comes to us from the Los Angeles Blair and New York’s argonaut&wasp. Together they have created a fun, engaging record that isn’t going to be forgotten anytime soon.

“Planetary” is a sort of poppy blend of house and indie dance. We’ve recently noticed a trend of shorter songs, but this one comes in nearly at five minutes, but let us tell you it does not feel that long at all. Once you click play, time and space don’t matter. The only thing that does is what is coming out of your speakers. Blair and company will swoop you off your feet and take you on a journey that you’ll want to experience over and over. Steam it today; full release is this Friday.

[Music Video] argonaut&wasp – Crystal Stills

Back in February, argonaut&wasp released their EP Future Protocol. Recently, they released a music video for one of the singles, “Crystal Sills,” coming in the form of a simple, yet visually-striking animation. Animated and directed by Abi Laurel, this video isn’t what you would expect to be in partnership with the indie dance tune. However, their fit is snug, and together they make for a telling experience. Instead of opting for a cheesy live performance music video, they went ahead and expanded on the ideas behind the track, which makes for a better experience overall. Check out the music video below, and if you would like to purchase “Crystal Sills” you can do so here.

[Indie/Electronic] argonaut&wasp – Future Protocol EP

The Vermont duo argonaut&wasp have just self-released their new EP, Future Protocol, today. Their fusion of indie with electronic is staggering, with the mixture being taken all over the place for the different sounds that make up the four tracks on the project. From listening to Future Protocol, you get a sense that these guys are a band and not two dudes just making beats, which makes sense, because when hey play live, they actually do have a band with them! Jamming out to something like “Higher Ground” or “Pistol Pump Funk” would be a smashing good time. In contrast, “Stranger Lover” and “Crystal Stills” are more feely type tracks, with a softer sound that plays with the emotions in a more subtle manner. All four get thumbs up from this guy, and if you feel the same, head on over to iTunes to nab this project.

[Indie-Pop/Video] argonaut&wasp – Pistol Pump Funk

Pistol Pump Funk (Single) [MUSIC VIDEO OUT NOW]

Vermont-based duo Theo Klein and Trey Schibli, who craft luscious indie-pop under the guise of argonaut&wasp sent us over their newest record “Pistol Pump Funk” along with its official music video, and we just couldn’t shake their uniquely infectious sound. Only the pair’s second official release, “Pistol Pump Funk” rides a gorgeous sonic wave between indie-pop & rock and funk inspired chords amongst percussive elements typically found on club and dance productions; but the way in which their sounds are minced and layered together is nothing short of breathtaking. With the Summer heat wave directly upon us, this one will surely function as a breezy anthem to accompany many a pool party with their delicate balance of earthly tones and future electronics. Be sure to hit the jump for argonaut&wasp’s official “Pistol Pump Funk” music video which joyfully plays like a colorful and upbeat adventure through old saloons and modern streets scrawled with urban art. argonaut&wasp will be joining Lemâitre for a few East Coast dates, so be sure to check below, and don’t miss the chance to catch them in your home city.
