[Future Bass] Rebecca Perl – Keepin’ It Cool (Tep No Edit)

Rebecca Perl
Keepin' It Cool (Tep No Edit)

Toronto’s Summer songster Tep No has dropped a slick edit of “Keepin’ It Cool” by Rebecca Perl. The future-tinged treat is a nice little jam to celebrate the Summer season.

Catchy is the first word that comes to mind with this melodic piece. It’s a fun record that does what it intended to do; namely, keep things cool. It may hot out for most of us, but you can certainly chill out to yet another Tep No treasure. The style fits incredibly alongside Rebecca’s alluring vocal.

TJR – How Ya Feelin (Aylen Trap Edit) [TMN Premiere]

How Ya Feelin (Aylen Trap Edit)

Usually trap edits of singles from headliner acts are watered down, cut time versions of the song. However, with Aylen‘s new edit for TJR‘s “How Ya Feelin” he doesn’t take the easy route. In fact, he doesn’t even keep things in the trap realm entirely. We have the honor of premiering his interpretation of the Spinnin Records original right here, right now.

With what Aylen did, we wouldn’t be surprised if this gets snagged as an official release; it’s just that good. The twists and turns he took from the original to here are stunning, especially with the short-lived breakbeat phrase that is quite a surprise (sorry, spoiler). Then it’s back into the trapstyle where turning up is mandatory. As many of Aylen’s track are, this one is being pushed as a free download, so hop on it if your ears are liking what they hear.

[Trap] Rustie – Triadzz (Deon Custom Edit)

Triadzz (Deon Custom Edit)

It’s a good day when Deon Custom uploads something to his Soundcloud. He did just that today with his edit of “Triadzz,” an original by Glasgow’s Rustie. Deon makes the song more appealing to a DJ, providing a sound that is uplifting in nature. His edit is one of those cloud nine tracks, which you’ll come to understand once you’ve lent your ears to his sonic magic. This comes after his original “Razors” which shares a similar future trap style. He’s managed to win our ears over again, and hopefully he does the same for you. This is one of the best examples of a good “edit” and since this is an edit, it has been released for free.

[Progressive House] Tony Romera – Public Enemy (DBN Edit)

There’s no doubt that within EDM progressive house is especially saturated with many talented artists. And while some people can make the argument that it all starts sounding the same after a while, I think those people forget about the subtleties that make a track unique, yet truly representative of its genre.

Tony Romera‘s “Public Enemy” captures the essence of what makes progressive house the genre we’ve all come to love — poignant builds, inspired bridges, and fat drops. Romera is a young producer that’s only just starting to make his name in the scene, and if his production and mixing skills are already at this caliber, I can’t wait to see what he’ll have in store for us in the future.

“Public Enemy” was released by RUN DBN Records and can be purchased on beatport.

Machinedrum – Let It ft. Melo-X (edIT Remix)

Very seldom do I hear about a remix and enjoy it more than the original track. I guess there is just part of me that likes to hold on to the original of something because without it there would be nothing to remix at all. Edit‘s version of Machinedrum‘s “Let it”, though, makes me really question the way I’ve been looking at remixes because I actually do think its better than the original. While Machinedrum’s song is a great foundation, Edit’s subtle additions really fill out the track and make it bigger. His penchant for riding the bass and adding high pitched synth leads give the track an almost eerie feel for the vocals to build upon.

Edit, real name Edward Ma, has been quite unstoppable since forming the supergroup The Glitch Mob. Make sure you check our exclusive interview with him a few months back.
