Life Is Hard (Teen Daze Remix)
The hippie-inspired collective that is Edwarde Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros is always a great change of pace for those looking for something more organic and free spirited. While their music does not generally lend itself to the more electronic remixes, Vancouver-based producer Teen Daze has managed to flip the emotional “Life is Hard” into a 6-minute airy and ambient masterpiece. The remix features an extended intro using only a brief soundbyte of the original and it’s not until the three minute mark that the vocals of Alex Ebert make a brief, warped appearance. Despite a drastically different sound, this rework seems to communicate a similar sentiment as Ed Sharpe’s original.
