Following the success of “Foxfire”, the creative duo Ardency strike once again with another jaw dropper. Reworking Empire of the Sun‘s “We Are The People”, the two musicians definitely worked their magic and put a spin on the popular anthem. The tune is suited with a lo-fi 80’s disco approach fused with a chillwave sound. The original vocals are kept to go with the indie vibe of the track. The addictive touch resembles the sound of Neon Indian while adding an adrenaline-infused bassline to top it off.

Per usual, Ardency outdid themselves with this release. We are very excited to see what other tricks they got up their sleeves. Make sure to grab a free download if you dig the track!

Now in its 23rd year, Noise Pop Festival has become an absolute staple of the Bay Area for fans of independent music, film and art. With multiple shows every night at some of the best venues SF and Oakland have to offer, Noise Pop presented the best kind of difficult decisions on a daily basis. The Noise Pop HQ, at the newly renovated Swedish American Hall, was a fantastic destination as well hosting intimate shows, happy hours and even a live podcast recording with Toro y Moi where he premiered “Half Dome,” the eighth track from his upcoming album. Although there were plenty of activities outside of the concerts, being the ninjas we are, we’re going to focus on our favorite performances from the week. 1. Flight Facilities, 2.24 @ The Regency Ballroom

Why we loved it: Australian DJ duo Flight Facilities, of the esteemed Future Classic, took stage at The Regency in full aviation gear for an energetic set. What really took their performance to the next level was live vocal assistance from talented Owl Eyes and Surahn Sidhu, member of Empire of the Sun, who covered female and male parts of Flight Facilities’ countless hits. Australian duo Empire of the Sun astounded us with their comeback single, “Alive,” when it dropped last month. Now, they’ve commissioned TMN favorite, Zedd, for a brand new remix. It has all the typical ingredients of a guaranteed Zedd banger: a buzzing build up, a cascading bridge, and finally a boisterous, captivating drop. Although it’s just a preview, this might be the best two and a half minutes of music you hear all day. Make sure to look out for the full version when it drops on May 21st. Also, don’t forget to purchase Empire of the Sun’s sophomore effort, Ice on the Dune, when it hits our shores on June 18th.

“Walking on a Dream” is a song from Australian duo Empire of the Sun in their debut album “Walking on a Dream” released October of 2008. They have another single “We Are the People” to which I recommend you check it out. I always enjoy when songs are remixed in a way that stays true to the original song and Van She Tech manages to do just that. There are plenty of remixes of this song in the interweb and I find this one to be one of the better ones. The song really picks up after a minute in.
