[Synth-Wave/Pop] Psychic Twin – Unlock Yr Heart

Psychic Twin
Unlock Yr Heart

If you happen to maintain as one of the fortunate people “in the know” about the extremely listenable psych-pop/synth-wave duo Psychic Twin, then we commend your taste and cutting edge eye for up and coming talent. On top of that, if you have been following the New York via Chicago band, specifically front-woman Erin Fein on Facebook, then a few weeks ago you may have received the message asking if we the fans would be interested in a new track. Well, after previous singles “Strangers”, “Dream State” and “Are You Gonna Get Her”, self-released mostly through Bandcamp and via exclusive 7″ vinyl pressings, we were salivating like one of Pavlov’s pitbulls for any sort of new material from the uber-talented pair and our answer was an emphatic “Yes!!!!!”.  Finally after a slight wait, “Unlock Yr Heart”, Psychic Twin’s newest single was unearthed through an obscure (to us Americans) German source, and lucky for you, it has landed right here in our Ninja laps. The track begins with pretty synth waves and a bass line a la Visions era Claire Boucher, while being bolstered by Fein’s airy, but penetrating vocals. The track rounds out with a pop sensibility that appeals to so many walks of life, signaling an end to Psychic Twin’s air of underground-ness most likeyl. Enough gushing already, just listen to “Unlock Yr Heart” above, and dig into Psychic Twin’s back catalogue if you have the chance, as they will no doubt begin to surface on many a music publication’s radar in the coming year.
