[Dubstep] YOOKiE X Wooli – Voodoo

Another mega collaboration has come out, this time from YOOKiE and Wooli. Together these bass giants created “Voodoo” that has come out on the esteemed Firepower Records imprint. As you would imagine coming from these two acts, this original isn’t just a run of the mill record.

“Voodoo” implores some extra dirty sounds, but before we get to those, the producers take us through an ominous tribal introduction to set the mood just right. When “Voodoo” drops into the thick of things we’re met with a bassline that really can’t be described by words – it’s something you just have to hear for yourself. If you like what you hear, grab a copy of the single online today.

[Dubstep] Kompany – Kill Humans EP

I’ve had the personal pleasure of catching Kompany live recently, which means I’ve had the pleasure of hearing some of his Kill Humans EP with a full sound system. I was highly impressed and now that we’ve ran through all four singles in the dojo, all the ninjas are on board with this amazing EP.

Released through our friends over at Firepower Records, this four track project is a treasure chest of bass. “Kill Humans” kicks off the EP with some dark, cinematic sounds that lead into some insanely vicious growls that will rip your speakers to shreds if you aren’t careful. Next comes “Creepin’,” a twerk-friendly beast whose in-your-face attitude fits just in line with the EP’s overall tone. The only collaboration on Kill Humans comes next in the hybrid “Arcadia,” which was created alongside TYNVN. Lastly, “At ‘Em” closes out the project with it’s machine-gun style bass work. Overall, Kill Humans is dope through and through. Get your copy of the EP today through digital services.

[Dubstep] Datsik – Sensei EP

Datsik is all about ninjas. We’d hope he’s all about the Music Ninja’s as well, since we’re all about him and his new EP, Sensei. Datsik has long been a leader in the dubstep community, pushing severely dirty growls onto headbangers worldwide. With his new EP, we get just what we bargain for with the Firepower Records‘ head.

Sensei features seven songs, including collaborations with Virtual Riot, Excision, AD, Lox Chatterbox and Zack The Lad. If we could only choose two words to describe this project in full they would be sharp and heavy. Sharp is a katana, and as heavy as a sumo wrestler. Throughout Sensei Datsik kicks forth his signature vibe that pays homage to the more classic, pre-2013 dubstep sound. Despite this, he still manages to keep things fresh and forward thinking, showing yet again why he is one of dubstep’s big hitters. Get your copy of Sensei today!

[Music Video] Protohype – Lights On Feat. Malcolm Anthony

The British poet Alfred Tennyson famously once wrote “Tis better to have loved and lost, Than never to have loved at all.” Many of us have gone through the difficult time of having lost an important relationship in our lives, whether it be with a friend, significant other or even family member. Protohype‘s single with Malcom Anthony, “Lights On” shares the sentiments of being in such a situation, but now the song has a music video to go along with it.

Within the video we see what happens when a person loses something they once loved, in particular, a significant other. From the moment it’s over, through the phase of reliving those cherished moments to the hard times of waiting for them to come back, this video covers it all. It even dives into both perspectives, to paint a real picture that will hit right at home for may viewers. Not only is it a great video, but the song is just as powerful. “Lights On” is a part of Puppy Crew, which can currently be purchased through digital stores. Lastly, Protohype and Firepower Records are currently holding a creative contest for fans to show what they leave the light on for. Submit your video via Instagram by using the hashtag #ProtohypeLightsOn.
