[Chill] Flying Lotus – Flotus

Fresh off the release of his stellar album Until the Quiet Comes, Flying Lotus dopped this previously unreleased track earlier today. “Flotus,” a heavily hip-hop influenced instrumental, is yet another example of the super-producers versatility. The song flows smoothly for the first minute and a half before the percussion, along with some additional instrumentation, join creating a tranquil, laid-back sound.

[Hip-Hop] Captain Murphy – The Killing Joke (Prod. Flying Lotus)

Captain Murphy took to his Twitter this morning to release a new track with LA-based experimental producer Flying Lotus. On “The Killing Joke,” Lotus loops a haunting carol-like sample with dark undertones setting the mood perfectly for the ominous, low-pitch vocals of Murphy, who at times sounds suspiciously similar to Odd Future frontman Tyler, the Creator. All speculation aside, the Captain delivers like a veteran of the game mixing his darkest thoughts with the bravado of an accomplished emcee. [Remix] Flying Lotus – Binge Eating Without You

Experimental producer, Flying Lotus, took to Twitter a few days ago to release his unfinished, innovative take on Frank Ocean‘s already awesome “Thinkin Bout You.” With sped up vocals and a soothing beat, the L.A. based artist manages to keep the corky, soulful feel of the original track all the while inducing a steady head not.

[Hip-Hop] Azizi Gibson – Sweetspace (prod. Flying Lotus)

On his most recent collaboration, Flying Lotus teams ups with LA-based rapper Azizi Gibson to display yet another facet of his wide range of producing abilities. On “Sweetspace,” Lotus creates a relaxing, post-jazz feel layered with appropriate rhymes by Gibson sharing some playa’s wisdom. Flying Lotus’s album, Until The Quiet Comes, will be released on October 2nd and promises to be an innovative and eclectic collection of music.
