[Denver Giveaway] College – 12/6 – Larimer Lounge

College feat. Nola Wren
Save the Day

If there’s one phrase to NOT describe your trusty Music Ninjas with, we would have to pick stingy. Which is why it just wouldn’t be a normal week at TMN without some sort of free swag for our astute readers to try their hands. Avant-Pop players College, who most notably added their Electric Youth collaboration “A Real Hero” to the Ryan Gosling lead Drive  soundtrack, and most recently released the Nola Wren featuring “Save The Day” (which you can stream above) bring their live show to Denver’s Larimer Lounge this Saturday, December 6. We’re buzzing about this one heading into the weekend, and it just wouldn’t be the same without having a couple more of our friends there as well. Entering is simple, just “like” The Music Ninja Facebook page (if you haven’t already), and enter your e-mail address in our widget below.
There are a few rules, of course:
– The event is all ages (16+) so tell your friends!
– You are responsible for your own transportation.
– You must bring a valid form of ID to pick up your tickets at the Lost Lake door.
-You must find a TMN representative and let them buy you a shot (or soda for our under-agers)

[Denver Giveaway] SOHN – 11/10 – Larimer Lounge

SOHN
The Chase

Vienna-based Londoner SOHN‘s name has been one synonymous with TMN’s softer and emotive side since his premiere single “The Wheel” back in 2012, and since then what was once a snowball’s worth of hype has accumulated into a full fledged avalanche which has seen his moniker attached to projects like Banks & Angel Haze, releases on classic indie labels like 4AD, and countless other distinctions. So when SOHN’s ambient palate of electronicism touches down tomorrow, Monday the 10th at the Larimer Lounge in Denver, we wanted at least a few of our Ninja friends there representing. We’re giving away two pairs of tickets to the show, and as always, entering is beyond simple. To set the mood and stack the odds in your favor, listen to “The Chase” from SOHN above.

There are a few rules, of course:
– You must be 18+ to enter.
– You are responsible for transportation.
– You must bring a valid form of ID to pick up your tickets at will call.
-You ABSOLUTELY MUST be ready to get lost in a constant state of swoon, completely lost in the dreamy nature of SOHN’s music

[Denver Giveaway/Event Preview] TMN Presents: ASTR + The Knocks (Live) – 6/24/14 – Larimer Lounge

The Music Ninja is ecstatic to be presenting two of our absolute favorite burgeoning acts, both out of New York, ASTR and The Knocks (Live)  next Tuesday in Denver, CO.  There’s a veritable buzz circulating around the TMN office as of late, and it’s pretty safe to say that is has to do with June 24th. Just 6 months removed from their Varsity EP, ASTR, whose story sounds like something out of a movie, bring their cimmerian, R&B tinged brand of electronica and pop for the first time to Denver with an incredible supporting cast. Also on the stacked bill is a very special live set from nu-disco revivalists The Knocks. While they’ve brought performances with regularity to Denver in recent times, most have come in the form of DJ sets, and to have them plying their craft in their true vision is always an inviting, raucous experience. We’ve once again teamed  up with our friends at the Larimer Lounge to get you ninjas involved in what will be without a doubt a can’t miss concert and one of TMN’s most anticipated nights of 2014. We’re giving away not one, two or three, but FIVE pairs of tickets to our studious readers through Facebook (just follow the instructions below) and for our friends who would rather not take their chances and want to secure a place in what will be a tightly packed venue, grab your tickets here.

Entering is a breeze. Simply “like” The Music Ninja, ASTR and The Knocks Facebook pages and share our Facebook status here for a chance to win! The contest runs until the day of the show, June 24th, at 5:00 p.m., and our winners will be contacted via Facebook but there are a few rules of course:

– You must be 16 or over to enter.
– You are responsible for transportation to the venue
– You must bring a valid form of ID to pick up your tickets at the door..
– You must promise to have as much damn fun as possible on our behalf

Basscrooks
No Discrimination [basscrooks Remix]

With a few of us Ninjas residing in the great city of Denver, CO and its surrounding areas, we get pretty darn excited when a full blown music festival is brought to the Centennial State. So it’s pretty safe to say you can catch a handful of us at the South Park Music Festival during the July 4 weekend. Put on by Cannabis Network Radio, SPMF features an appropriate top-end of headliners including Slightly Stoopid, Paper Diamond, Steel Pulse, The Grouch & Eligh and more, while also pulling in a more than solid supporting cast from some of our TMN favorites including option4, Blackalicious, Vinnie Maniscalco and the bass leaning duo of Basscrooks. Needless to say, it just wouldn’t be a party without at least a few of our incredible readers in attendance as well, so we wanted to extend an opportunity to come groove with us in the Colorado sun by giving away a pair of free tickets. Enjoy your Fourth of July weekend with amazing live music, camping if you are so inclined, an absurd amount of activities when you need a break including frisbee golf and yoga and oh yeah… we hear you can partake in the combustion of marijuana plants in this state free of legal trouble.

Entering our contest is super simplified. Our only requirements are: You must “like” The Music Ninja, Basscrooks and South Park Music Festival on Facebook, enter your e-mail adress into the widget below and we’ll contact you via e-mail. Our contest runs all the way until June 24th, and there are a few rules, of course:

We wouldn’t be The Music Ninja without giving you some music either would we? Denver wub-slingers Basscrooks, who we’re thrilled to catch live again,  just released their official remix of Mr. Collipark’s “No Discrimination” in anticipation of their South Park Music Festival set, and it’s a grimy, twerk inducing edit just in time for the weekend. Basscrooks are truly an exciting pair to take in during a live setting, and we think their polished brand of bass music will be without a doubt one of the highlights of South Park’s stacked lineup. Grab their rump clapping remix for free here and we’ll see you soon!

[Show Preview/Denver Giveaway] Caroline Smith – Hi-Dive, 2/7

Oh how we love to talk about our favorite artists whilst being able to hook up our amazing contingency of Music Ninjas with some perks in the process. Singer/songwriter Caroline Smith has seen a consistent musical symbiosis take place over the last few years; from early in her artistic career being embraced by the indie/folk community before recently being the focal point of one of our favorite press quotes of the year by the Star Tribune: “Goodbye, sweet, cuddly indie-folk songbird. Hello, sexy, glam R&B singer”.  Her last LP Half About Being a Woman released back in October, and we just could not manage to shake those beautiful tunes for months afterwards, especially our personal favorite “Magazine” (which you can and should stream the Audiotree session for below). So in advance of Caroline Smith’s impending Half About a Woman album release tour, which kicks off in just three days, we wanted to team up for another ticket giveaway for our Denver family!

Caroline Smith invades one of our absolute favorite rock-bars in the Mile-High City, The Hi-Dive, this Friday, February 7 and we’d love to get you a pair of tix to the show. Entering is beyond easy. Just fill out the mailing list form below, “like” the Caroline Smith and The Music Ninja Facebook pages, and we’ll contact you via e-mail. There are a few rules, of course:
– You must be 21 or over to enter.
– You are responsible for transportation.
– You must bring a valid form of ID to pick up your tickets at the door.
– You must shout “I Love The Music Ninja” upon entry.

Good luck, ninjas!

Be sure to be on the lookout as we had the chance to sit down with the super-talented artist over the weekend and will run her full interview in the coming days. Check out the rest of the tour dates for Caroline Smith’s U.S. tour and stream the Audiotree Session of her track “Magazine” after the jump!
